Vale Ernie Grant

I read last night that Ernie Grant has passed on, a few weeks after his 100th birthday.

A good innings for an outstanding gentleman who has taught me so much with his Guide to Fishes encyclopaedia.

I first met Ernie in the early 80's and several times since then randomly.

A sad bit of news, but I am happy for the full life he led and the family he raised.

He surely is missed.

Synonymous with fish identifying. I have 3 copies, one signed with a short well-wish. I also followed him on FBook where he continued to help people with ID's and share his knowledge with stories.

I have three copies as well....I think his latest copy shows a distinct trend away from his earlier editions in descriptions and names. Still good information but not as concise I feel.

I’ve got a signed copy as well. A lot of work would have gone into those books.

I've got a copy - this reminds me that myself and the boys should look at it occasionally. RIP Ernie.
