Braid colours - Orange Daiwa Reel

Whats everyone’s opinion on the multicolour braid vs the green braid.  My wife says the green braid looks terrible with an orange real and that the multicolour looks better. I understand this is personal preference but does the green look terrible on the orange reel. I’m just interested what the majority wrecking green looks like. Currently using the green Gosen W Hard type 8 ply Casting Braid and the multi coloured Yamatoyo Famell PE Jigging Braid.  Both are in 12lb

Opinions on both braids please.

Lastly, in the pictures below what are the washes for that come with my new Daiwa Sol 2500 reel.  Surely these don’t have to be added before use.

Reel should be good to use from the get go and I would assume they are just spare parts.

I don’t think either colour braid looks bad but I do prefer multicolour in general.

They're shims. 

They shift the Spools position. 

Over time you may find the line starting to bunch towards the front of the Spool upon retrieval. 

If so, remove the Spool and add a shim or two. 

Get the line laying flat, like you have now.

I bought a pile of multi colour PEX8 braid extra cheap and have it loaded onto several reels.

Multi colour line is harder to see at night....very noticeable how much harder it is to see in the blues and purples...sort of ok in the reds, fine in green.

My preference is plain white for all light conditions.

Your drag washers will compress over time and as explained the line lay will shift so you add the shim to compensate.

Green and gold, most of us are Aussies and reckon those colours go together like bacon and eggs on a roll.

Your missus must be a kiwi as well and want black and white
