Hey Guys'n'Girls, Well todays the end of my 2 weeks of fishing bliss:( But damn what a 2 weeks it has been with many firsts for me.

Last day- Pine River

Up early again and in the water with Jason at around 5:15am. We went and cast netted some bait for the Crab pots. After about 45 minutes we had enough bait for the pots and a bit of a fish. We set the pots and started fishing nearby to keep an eye on them. After being baited by pickers for about an hour I got smashed with a nice drag screaming run into a snag:( After a little bit of stuffing around I pulled the fish out:woohoo: and it started pulling drag again:blink: .

Jason was on the phone to his wife while I was fighting the fish, Then we seen colour and all hell broke loose   . The wife was told in half a second " GOTTA GO, TALK LATER!!" and the landing net was Grabbed. We boated a nice fish, photo's were taken and the Fish was set free to fight another day!! Another first for me and I'm 1 happy camper!:woohoo: :woohoo: . The photos will show why. Jase has them and will post them shortly;)

A BIG THANK YOU TO JASON!!!! for puting up with me over the past 2 weeks. I've had an absolute BALL. You're a fkn Top bloke and I'm happy to call you my friend;)

To the rest of you, thanks for puting up with my ramblings over the past couple of weeks:blush: .

Jayson..........The partys over, the cats back..:(

MMMMMM never caught a Murry Cod before. Yeah I might give 1 a go:P ;)

But honestly though, I've read every bit of info about Jack's that I can find. What, where, when, how and why, and then just by dumb luck catch one:laugh: When it hit I thought it was "Just another Cattie  "..  You should have seen us when we realised what it was  :woohoo:

I am sooo glad to see that came from the wrecks!

After being smoked there a couple of times I needed assurance that it might have been jacks...know we know for sure...there's jacks in them there wrecks.

I know where I am going in the not too distant future:woohoo:

Top stuff Chubbs (and Faulked the net man!)

Thanks Rocket and others for the kind words.

Mate that system would be teaming with jacks and I'm planing on finding out;) I have a few tricks up my sleaves to try, Like I said earlier I've read as much info as I can about jacks and some of the tips should work well there. A shallow boat with an electric motor would be awesome up in some of them creeks.

Some deep hole Jigging should work a treat also:) .

We'll have to give it a go together some day, Rocket;)

As for that one today, I was very very lucky it didn't head for the wrecks. Because I would never had stopped it, as it was it crossed up most of our lines. The speed and power was very impresive.

I had plans on killing and eating my first Jack. But after geting it in the boat and seeing how beautiful it was I couldn't kill it. I dont think that I'll get to taste one that I catch now:blink: . I was hooked on Jack's before I caught one, But now I'm even worse:blush: :S

Everything in the pots was very small:( We got a couple of Bream in the pots as well:blink: Under size though, Theres a lot of jnr fish there. When cast netting we caught a lot of very small Bream and a few 3-4" Threadfin:blink: . My camera was had flat batteries and Jason was balancing up the front of the boat other wise I would have taken a pic. Damn it just hit me I caught my fisrt Threadie today as well as the Jack:blink: We wont talk about it being so SMALL:P
