Australia Day Long Weekend?

I am taking my yak and heading north to Lenthalls for 4 days:cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

Early morning starts for bass on surface and then changing tactics and targeting the barra as the day goes on. Can't wait. Have heard some reports of barra being caught but not all that many, they are few and far between after the winter they had.

Yeah i think ill dedicate a day or a night to some solid fishing. I would really like to get out somewhere i would have a chance at something on the surface like trevs. Failing that i might even go somewhere with livies and chase a jack... Decisions decisions!

Hope you do well wayne. There has been a few bass caught on small pink or purple lures but Barra remain elusive. Be aware that you are not supposed to bring live bait to the dam. Have you had a look at fishntales website ? It has a bit of info re Lenthalls as it is a hervey bay site.

Cheers

A mate has been getting onto some good trevs and tarpon late afternoon and into the evening on poppers in lake kawana over the last couple of weeks, I might give it a go this week sometime. some good sized trevs to up to 3kg

jeez, we've had some great lookers pictured on this site recently haven't we?? :P

I'm heading to Toogoom, just beyond Hervey Bay, for 5 days. Its the annual pilgrimage for my circle of friends.

While they listen to Triple J's hottest 100 on the day, I'm out on a canoe fishing. Gonna really try and stick out an entire day on the water this time around with solid plastic and hardbody fishing.

And I figured if I still suck after 6 solid hours, I might have to find a new hobby :)

My original plan of heading west has been thwarted by the untimly arrival of some urgent bills.

But it was my intention to head west to such dams as Glenlyon, Coolamunda, and the western rivers chasing myself a big cod, and a couple of yellas. Been meaning to get out that way for a while, its about 3 hours to Glenlyon from brissie.

As it happens I will probably be somewhere closer to home.

Well while im having a laugh, On the topic i'm thinking of going to DI again for some beach fishing and if the weathers polite ill get the yak out off the headland i know of a couple of decent reefs within 1klm from there for some reefies yak style, However if all else fails ill beach fish alll weekend, and some rock fishing at night, Ill extend an invite to any that want to come along for the adventure. We will catch fish!!
