Off for a spot of night reef fishing on Harrys. Will be launching from the Port ramp and swinging by the rock wall for a quick fish and weather check, set the tinnies up and what have you. Weather permitting I will be slipping out to harrys so I am on the sweet spot on dawn. Do the dawn and head back in.

Lets see what turns up huh.

Thanks for the cheers guys. Probably bounce about the rock wall and check on the weather. The high tides are close to both sunset and sunrise or at least close enough to mix things up. This may take us to SW reef off Mud Island for a looksee. Then zip across the bay "close to harrys" lol set the big lines have a feed and perhaps a camp for a few hours awaiting the tititititiititititi alarm clock.

faulked will be on board for the trip - I wonder if he is cuddly lol jokes jokes...

Angus I dare say there will be the odd squire on the slower end of the tide. Runs pretty hard through that channel.

Kevin, not planning the big rods on this trip for having a laugh at the rock wall. I have fished off some nasty rock walls where you have to strap yourself in, so casting over that one and bringing some of the smaller specimens over will not be an issue - just not that cod you saw lol.

Ian, you have my number if you get out there give me a call or text. We should be on the ramp around 1700.

ellecat, some of the bigger stuff should be starting to move back up the river systems on the hunt. As long as we land them and have photo evidence hey...

Mick, I spun by that ramp a few weeks back and spent around 3 hours netting for a shimp and a small bream. Perhaps it is my technique lol. Good idea though.

Stabin, not tried plastics out there, what sort you recommend?

chubbstar, be good to see you there mate.

Anyone thinking about the bay on saturday morning, give me a call (profile) for a weather report.

Rodger that Ian. Will give you are ping when we hit the water. My guess is the wind will be up until around 2000 and then fall nicely to step out in the bay roughly midnight.

lol no galley mate. I am just bringing some sangers and a few tins for back up and possibly some munchies.

Just bring your rods (a the very least 3), tackle, burley bucket if you want, I just chuck the burley out. Bait (pillies and squid) and a Pillow! I will pick up the fuel and the ice on the way.

You think we need the really big eski?. or is that just wishful thinking. Makes for a good foot rest lol.

faulked I am kind of hoping we are not going to be needing anything to keep us awake lolol

Great work on the prawn Ian. I dare say you will be up for a few bullies no doubt! Is your cover a bit grim mate? It looked ok to me but hey a bit of gaffa and ya larfin. You can always share a bunk with faulked

Thanks for the tip Gaz, I will through in the anchor bouy just in case we need some extra lift.

lol yeah bit of a trip. Crossing the bay was pretty lumpy and then crossing the wake of monstrous crane ships. It is pretty arse puckering looking UP at a wave lol. Good call from Jason on Curtain as the wind kept up and we only had a hour plug across the bay to calm water.

Current really ripped through curtain (there is a really nice hole at 26meters but the large tide may have contributed to the run in and out.

I doubt light gear would stand up too well on curtain. Jason was running 55lb braid and I had 44lb stuff and my 24kg rod could not lift what I had. It is a shame they did not land on our heavier gear lol.

Was a great night, good company. Oh speaking of good company, it was about 1230 and my line goes off tititititititititititititititi and we were both asleep. Jason, the fastest man alive, rips himself up and straight out the back for the rod. I am watching this and dead set he looked like he was gonna keep going over the stern and into the drink lmao. I had a good fit of larfta.

Anyways, worth more investigation with nothing short of 100lb and 150lb wire trace. Next trip Jason we are landing what ever hit us.
