Hi guys.

i have finally a little bit of time off and am keen to finally get out for a fish. Just wondering if you guys could help me with where i should try. I live at Hawthorne but dont mind having to drive a bit. Will be land based and will prob take my cast net and TRY to cast it for some livies. Prepared to go after anything from bream, cod or even my first shark

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

There are a million and 1 places to go mate.

- anywhere on the Brissy river

- shultz or nudgee canal

- manly boat harbour

- redcliffe bridge (that massive one that goes over the water)

- bribie Island

- Gold coast canals/broadwater

- sunshine coast canals

Right now its take your pic, but keep in mind the tides. With all this rain, the outgoing tide is almost a waste of time in any of the creeks/rivers.

Very snaggy, especially since they built up the park there! Wouldnt recommend cast netting. Up the road where the ferry/city cat docks is a park and pontoon you can cast from. Dont remember the name of the park, but its oppositte Latrobe St East Brisbane.

You'll also get lots of bream, and of course, lots of Brisbane River Barramundi (catfish):)
