More Schultz Breaming By Catch

I was trying for a Cod but not a touch. Kev got a bream so I had a crack at power breaming. Sure enough caught yet another flatty. Kev had next cast and got one too. Mine was 64cm or and Kev's was 57cm I think. Faulked and his mate were there so he might remember the sizes better.

Faulked can tell the funny story that goes along with these flatties too if he sees this. [img size=375]http://www.australianfishing.com.au/media/kunena/attachments/legacy/images/bream.jpg

"yeah.....wait, just let me quickly grap a fish" (dan)

" quickly? " (faulked's mate, sorry, i don't remember name well)

yeah, the camera flash made it look darker than what it was. We were leaving just as the mozzies really came on. Pitty about the mozzies and derros @ schultz cause it'd really go off there at night. That's why we need Lee and his Gigantism and Mackmauler and his Knife to come play security

I think we got there around 4 or so. Might have crossed paths. Didn't see anyone else with a rod other than us though. Were you up near the bridges??

Nice flatty's the one in kevins picture looks way bigger than 57 :P.

Yeah, he's perfected holding his fish out to the camera to make them look way bigger than what they are lol.

I forgot this pic of mine on the measure. faulked took a few photos too so he might have a few to post as well. [img size=375]http://www.australianfishing.com.au/media/kunena/attachments/legacy/images/measure-d85d4e9d6b257c9a1ab9688e405671de.jpg

Yeah my bigger one went back, even went to the trouble of climbing down the rocks for a comfort release:) . Kev's been throwing heaps of good fish back lately but he kept his flattie and let the bream swim away like most the bream he catches.

I've never kept a fish I've caught in Schultz Canal or Nudgee Creek.

Na not at all. I love eating flatties. My only concern would be eating them from thast creek? I wonder if all the rain has helped it flush out. Or if all the rain has flushed a whole lot a crap in there. There are a lot of factories and stuff not far upstream. Aside from that, if its over 40 and under 70 go for it.

Nice fish boys. You'd just about be on first name basis with the locals down there by now hey? :silly: They must be sick of seeing you two.

Kev, a mans gotta eat, I reckon there's nothing wrong with taking a feed now and then, especially when you return so many. Hope it tastes as good as it looks.

nice fish guys! my crazy hours @ work are almost over for a while so should be able to start making appearances again.

I don't think there's anything wrong with eating the fish from Schultz, I doubt they stay in the one spot for long, and when you see the shit conditions the 'nile perch' or 'basa' sold at woolies live in, schultz looks pretty clean.

Lovely flathead but I think people need to be aware of how to handle fish with care if you're going to release them. Don't worry, I'm not having a go at anyone as these forums are a great source of information as we all learn from them.

Boga grips are fantastic but please support the fish's weight/body with your other hand so you don't damage the fish. Yes, it may swim away if strung up by the grips with no support but it may not survive.

Some magazines I write for won't even publish photos of people holding fish with boga grips because of the damage caused to the fish.

I've included a couple of links to websites so that people can catch and release fish with the confidence that they will survive

Cheers

Leeann
