so headed to deep water bend with a few mates yesterday for a fish. got there and not much happening except for prawns which i cant complain about

also saw whatnow castnetting.

anyway finally my mate managed a small whiting followed by a small cattie and then nothing.. meanwhile i had a nice little poddy mullet on which got nailed and brought it back on to find a clean bite out of the back of it. ok now im getting excited...

then my mate hooked up, but was stingray followed by another small cattie

just before leaving at around 5 i was walking over to wind my rod in and saw i was geting hit, watched it for a few seconds until zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz picked it up and set the hooks, after a very short and rather disapointing fight up came my first bullie. measured in at 78.5

decided id keep it to eat and while cleaning it i found my mullet tail that had been bitten off as well as a few herring and a bunch of prawns...

we stayed for a little bit after that but didnt manage anything else just a few hits... also only managed undersize muddies but that doesnt matter it was still a good day

Deepwater Bend is alive and kicking ! Over the last week : Jew, Bream, Sharks, Crabs, Jacks and prawns!. Good stuff fellas.
