More ugly than usual toadfish

Hey caught this at deepwater bend the other week, thought i had a peice of poo on the end of my line.

I think that is either a type of Boxfish or a Toby. They are both very similar to a Toadie.

the other day at deep water bend i got one of those ones that blow up like the size of a soccer ball and have huge spikes all over them in the cast net

it was a pain in the arse to get out

That is a stars and stripes pufferfish (arothron hispidus), there must be a few around there at deep water bend. Saw a mate pull out 3 in a row awhile back, had a 14 inch one(that was capable of inflating up to the size of a basketball)in my fish tank for about 9 months.

they eat mainly crustaceans, but they'll take prawns.

from what I gather they're not too common around brisbane, so I'd implore people not to treat these fish like your ordinary pufferfish. Don't kill them for sh!ts and giggles, chuck 'em back.
