hi all, i'm new to this forum and after reading an overwhelming praise for schultz canal. i am very keen to try it. problem is, i dunno where the heck it is... whereis.com doesn't show it. i even googled it and closest thing that came up was toombul station. sooo does anyone have a street name that i can punch into the GPS?

i'm really keen to try catch something on lures, soft or hard. i'm pretty sucessful with bait, but when i try lures. it's like playing throw and retrive by myself for hours... so i guess i'm asking WHERE on the shultz canal can i lose my virginity with a lure. erhh u get the idea... i dun even care if it's a catfish! i just wanna freggin catch something! i might even settle for some riverweed!

I can "raise ya" on the riverweed!!

Was down there 3 weeks ago, outgoing tide.

Bang, good strike and rod goes over....as I was winding in..

Think - "oh yes its a good flattie".

Actual - a discarded crab pot.

Good luck with anything over any above riverweed or tossed crab pots!

thanks for all the advice, i think i should be able to find it now. nudgee beach is definately my fishing residence. i catch a heap of bream, tailor, winter whiting and the odd flounder. however, all very small. so small infact, i bought myself an ultra ultra light tackle (1-2kg shimano rod and the smallest daiwa reel i could find) just so i could get a kick out of it :P

being there is the most important thing, whether i catch fish or not. i get spoilt there cos there are no snags and the fish seem to catch themselves. but taking my often neglected dog out for a run on the shallows in always good for the soul.

i will try shultz canal, most likely next weekend. and will post to let you guys know my results.

thanks again!
