Stradic Vs Tierra??

yep sorry another reel question. as some of you will know im in the market for a new reel, originally i was going for a higher end reel like sol or luvias but ive decided to wait 6 months and build another rod then buy a luvias for that rod. SO in the meantime i am buying a good little reel for my 1-2kg stick.

i went to tackleworld tingalpa today and had a feel of a few reels. exeller plus, shimano technium, shimano stradic and a sol (only for comparison)

so after feeling around with these reels i have come to a fork in teh road. i was hoping to get to fiddle with a tierra but they had none :(

ive felt them before and i do like them.

i do like the stradic but i was really looking for a 2000/1500 sized reel.

so my question is tierra 1500 or stradic 2500/1000?? i will be using it mainly for bream. is there any major differences as to why i should go one way over the other.

sorry for another question i just want to get it right

cheers

tom

Hahaha this is holden vs ford sort of stuff again.

Mate I would say Stradic. This opinion is purely based on the fact i have used one and enjoy it.

Also for the surf SP'ing I do i find the popular shimano reels (twin power, stadic etc), to feel "Tougher". They still have that finesse feel but have something more to back it up. But once again this is only phsycological. I doubt either reel is stronger than the other.

The answers to this will simply come down to who likes which better:

Daiwa

or

Shimano

Cheers.

Tierra aswell, Its got the same drag as the sol and is lighter then the sol. I prefer daiwa's tho.

The sol's drag is actually twice as strong as the Tierra's. http://www.daiwa.com/Reel/spinning.aspx Check em' out.

I would probably go the Stradic as it has just gotten a big upgrade. It's also got way stronger drag.

You will be surprised at how small the higher end Shimano's are. Even tho my Twin Power is a 2500, it is still tiny.

They are probly both good reels, i have the Tierra 1500, and i like it alot, callum has the exceller wich is quite abit cheaper but i cannot feel to much difference, If you wana go daiwa, go the extra for the sol, in reality one of the most popular and praised bream reels on the market.. Just a thought, i have heard good things about the stradic, id give it ago, then we can have a bit of a daiwa vs shimano thing goin :P, haha its up to you in the end... They all would do the job.

289 mate.

its either a stradic 1000 or a tierra 1500

Unless you are just interested in the "pretty" orange colour you could also save yourself 40-50 bucks and have a look at the Daiwa Freams Kix 2000. Both the tackleworlds at Tingalpa and Underwood have them.

Mate i bought an okuma reel and it didnt come with a spare spool so i rang the okuma head office and asked for a spare spool for that model reel and they sent one by courier and it arrived in 2 days for free. Maybe look for Daiwa's head office and ring them up and see if they will give you one, Or even ask the tackle store.
