Shark fishing trip - early Jan

Went fishing early jan, miserable weather (was when there was wild weather up north and all that rubbish

Short breakdown of events:

Got there early, had a sleep. Deployed baits for the night. Okuma Titus 50 got hit by a small 6ft bully in pouring rain. Ben lands a 6fter!

This 6fter decided to swim sideways and moved us down the beach 100m - in which case because of the rain I didn't hear my Tiagra get a hit. Tiagra's bait brought in and no baits redeployed at night due to the rough surf-like conditions on the bay side of moreton.

Second day baits are deployed earlier in the day, and the Tiagra gets a hit. Unknown to me a small 6ft shark sat on the line for about 30minutes before I actually brought it in. Even then i didn't know I had it until its fin popped up in the surf.

can't remember what happened to the okuma's bait

Fresh baits deployed for the night. Both rods had to be brought in on the outgoing tide as HEAVY weed meant that even with 20lbs drag set, line was still coming off!

Third day same thing happened as previous night, heavy weed prevented us from keeping baits out. [img size=374]http://www.australianfishing.com.au/media/kunena/attachments/legacy/images/4_1_2008___Moreton_Island___Ben_Coley___hooked_up_to_6ft_shark_AFO.jpg

Rowing out was fun, when you get broken waves a foot or two above the yak:p

Yeah, needless to say - there was a reason I didn't want to row a bait out at night, and that's because I almost rolled it on re-entry in the daylight:P

That was for the first day and night. As you can see in the shark photo with me in, it really flattened out to what I normally see
