queensland Newstead plastic session.

Hey fellas.

just a quick report, went to newstead house for a quick fish near the jetty your not allowed to fish from. was using 3inch mango ripple curl tails with small jig head, cant remember the weight,

any ways wanted to get bream and ended up with 5 rat cod in about 2hrs and lost heaps of stuff to snags, rather then show you 5 small cod heres a photo of the biggest apprx 18-20cm. which still happy with as my first cod on sp's and also popped the cherry on my new raider.

woah nice ones.. bet u have lost almost half of ya SP.. there r plenty of nice fish there but i never had the courage to throw into the rocks for the fear of snags..

yeah lost about 6 jigs and plastics,then you had to watch out for the toadies as you came in i cheated and chucked a 5 inch gulp in there so they ate that insead of mine lol

gota couple of bust offs there is diffentatley bigger there, i just couldnt stop them quick enough

Great stuff, I've been fishing around there too picking up cod on hardbodies. Can't seem to get a bream at the moment!

I caught a couple of bream further around on the boardwalk section upstream from newstead house about a week ago. I was using gulp 2" minnow grubs in pumpkinseed, just running parralel along the rockwalls on the run-in tide. Then they just disappeared. I'm keen to try around the pylons and under the wharves in front of the section they are redeveloping in teneriffe. I think thats going to be the new Energex site? It looks so fishy but you need a boat or dinghy.

7" Berkley 1-3kg dropshot, crappy reel, 4lb fireline main, 6lb playtpus leader, 1/16" squidgy finesse jighead.

was using radier finese bream rod with 1500 sienna, 4lb fireline and nitlon 6lb leader, light jig head with 2/o hooksize and 3inch mango ripple gulp in curl tail grub

Your fishing and catching fish, a few bigger ones would be better,but at least you were catching well done.
