Sunken Wall 3/2/08

We had another go at the Sunken Wall today. We only have about 3 hrs of time to fish because I had too much homework to do for school (I hate Year 11:()

Anyway, for the first hour nothing, then I tyed on a Jackall Chubby and soon after I landed a 58cm Flathead. I had been using my Twin Power with the 15lb spool on a 3-6kg Pluegar Trion. A great way to christen my new rod with a pb Flathead and my first fish on a Jackall Chubby:cheer:

Nothing for a while and we started to head back to the boat ramp. Jack walked slower than us and he caught a small 28cm Cod on a Chubby when he was about 100m away from us (hence the one handed photo)

Then as we got under the Cement Co part of the wall, Dad hooked up to a big fish but he dropped it:(. Then I missed a decent sized Cod strike. Then I managed to catch a big 43cm Cod. This put up an awesome fight:cheer:.

Finally, Dad managed to catch his first ever fish on a lure. It was a small, 25cm Cod, but he was happy. Wasn't as big as the one he lost though.

Fun trip, but if I didn't have h/work to do, we could have stayed longer and caught more fish.

Another good report. That's a nice size Cod at 43cm was that on the heavier setup too? Feels nice to have a bit of confidence especially when fishing around rocky areas like that. Decent flatty also, we'll have to hit that spot soon.

So are chubbys the new Sx40?:silly:

Yeap, we just walked left from the boat ramp. We have to go under the Cement Co walk-way though. Some times in strong wind, dust and other stuff gets blown in your eye's which gets annoying.

Ellicat: We let them all go:). We would have had a good feed with the Flattie and Cod though

I'm pretty sure that you are allowed to. I havn't seen any signs prohibiting it and workers from the Cement Co drive past all the time and they havn't said anything at all.

Have a go, you'll be surprised at the quality of the fish you'll catch. And no body will blame you for using heavier gear:cheer: You'll need it to stop the Cod around the rocks. I'm only taking 15lb from now on. I actually got better fish when using that than with 4lb:S
