Novotel Twin Waters Landbased Advice

Hi all, I am heading up to the Novotel Twin Waters resort (sunshine coast) for a few days for an executive conference. My plan is to be skipping out for some early morning fishes before the main day begins, and possibly getting a late one in by skipping out on the the networking dinners. I'm going up at the start of March.

I've fished there once before from the jetty in the maroochy river and pulled in a couple of bream and (pike? snook?) on some 2" gulp grubs but was only able to fish one morning. I've also got a an alvey 650c + 13'6" alvey rod combo that I've just cleaned up after years of abstinence. Can anyone tell me what my best bets are for early morning sessions in the area (say from 4am-7.45am) land based only? Happy to either go to the river or to beach - happy to go anywhere really as long as there's the chance of a fish! :)

Thanks in advance, and sorry for the lengthy topic starter!:)

Was just there 4 weeks ago.

Could see some mullet jumping in the actual Twin Waters lake, saw a stash of people fishing the weir but didn't see any catches, and I fished the actual river as well.

Looks like a good place to do some fishing, I think my trip sucked due to all the fresh water from the rains and an outgoing tide.
