going to shultz tomorow with my friend hopefully tomorow i get my first bream on hb and mayby try and get some of those sharks fishyman saw

if you have bikes ride up the path going towards the mouth until the path veers inland, go off the path and continue until you come to a creek. Rocky bottom that should hold cod, flattie and bream

that's a gr8 idea faulked. i just christaned my new combo with 5 bream(bait), 3 cod, 2 fingermark and 1 flattie yesterday. now i want to catch more and bigger fish on that light combo!

no i didn't. all fish were fairly small so i didn't take any pics so no report.

i did hook up a nice size "something" that inhaled my gulp 3' but dropped it after 5seconds good and slow run. i got bricked by a cod once as well. the new rod feels fantastic i'd say. i met with a young bloke with a loomis drop shot of the same spec and his rod's terrible compared to my MB

yeah. the young bloke reckoned there's always good bream from 35 to 40 around and it's easy to nail 10 in 30mins most of the time but we didn't get a hit from bream. weird!

SW shrimp. love them for flattie and cod.

Went down this morn, after going to NPD. Lost a G-Vibe and a packet of 3.5gm jig heads + a full pkt of 3" squidgy mullet.

Landed a couple of small cod and lost a nice flattie of about 60cm.

Got 2 bass at NPD only 25cm thou.

Forgot to mention , While I was walking down to the creek (near the barge) there were 2 Black snakes on the edge of the path. So watch where you are walking.

There must be a gap between the barge & the bank as there were a couple of boats on the bridge side of the barge.

Kev where were you fishing to catch finger mark bream, I always assumed they were more nth qld species I wouldn't mind having a crack at a golden snapper or 2

Why? They are entirely different kev. Moses Perch have the black spot on the body and fingermark look more like jacks.

u dont catch fingermark this far south and fingermark also grow a lot bigger from the same fish family i think

DPI says they r the same and i think moses perch is only juvenile fingermark

They are both from the same family (lutjanis) but are a completly different fish Kev
