had a great day on the river with many firsts for me as i had decided i was going to fish plastics like i'd never done before(usually get bored with them and give up quickly)

we started chucking plastics at the end of the sunken wall but the combination of wind and tide made it hard so we moved around the corner and fished along the section from the wall to the pipeline i was using a i/16 no2 jighead and gulp 2"shrimp in natural and molting. my first fish for the day was a pike witch got kept for a livebait followed by a couple of bartail flathead that were not much bigger than the 2"shrimp:lol:

then came my first legal bream on plastic:woohoo: then a couple more plus a moses perch, then the wind came up and we moved past the pipeline into boggy creek and it went a bit quiet, jason was bait fishing by this stage and getting bitten off by tailor every second cast so i tried unweighted white pillys till i nailed one.

we had a visit from chubstar and (insert name here ,i forgot, sorry)

had a bit of a socialise then took off to try the mouth

tried aq couple of spots along the port walls for nothing untill we got right out to the end and there were alot of hardie heads schooled up and being harrassed so we anchored up and gave it a go,i caught more bream ,squire, moses perch and a gold spot blubberlips witch burried me in the weeds twice and had me worried for a while. so it's been weekend of firsts for me

first legal bream on plastics followed by many more i lost count at 12

first squire on plastics x3

first goldspot blubberlips on plastic x1

first moses on plastic x4

first bartail flathead on plastics x2

first pike on plastics x1

and 2 tailor 1 on bait 1 on hb

add the first flathead on popper yesterday to make up the best weekends fishing i've had for a while

i 'll let jason fill you in on his side of the story but i will say he cot a nice school mackeral witch i'm having for dinner thanks mate for a great day out

those blubber lip things (are they a netted morwong or something  ?)are a very pretty fish. awesome effort to get the mack on 2lb... :woohoo:

benno the mack was caught by jason on a slightly heavier line i meant all of mine were caught on 2lbs

the gold spot blubberlips is its name(plectohyncus flavomaculatus ehrenberg) page 404 in grants

it is a relative of the morwong family
