Well what a bust.

For me anyway.

Only reporting in the spirit of sharing the good with the bad

I tried everything from GULPS!, Damiki's, Chubbies and Yo Zuri hardcores for a few tentative hits and no hook ups.

There is an abundance of bait there at the moment, and it really looked fishy but it was not to be.

I think Rocket shared my duck.

Kev got one migit Tailor and Do$tylz got a bream and flatty.

I will let them share there thoughts.

We were fishing the run out and the low ebb of the tide, what tides do people find work better in schultz?

bad luck. Schultz is really hit and miss these days. Seems to always fish best around half tide.

Thanks for the company fellas, good afternoon despite the lack of fish. Got plenty of exercise too. If Angus offers to lead you on a 10 minute walk, take a packed lunch, a GPS and cancel tommorrows appointments!

We'll get them rascally fishes next time.

Hey Ladies and gents,

Have been away from a computer all weekend. Picked up Kev at around 2 and headed to Shultz for my first time there. Had my new gear with me that I bought at Anaconda, and was keen as mustard to catch a fish.

Anyway, a few casts in I hear a little yelp from Kev. He does get excited at every hit/hoookup doesn't he :lol: :laugh: I think 2 casts after that he's onto probably the smallest tailor I have seen caught on a line. I think it was around 12cm. For some reason he declined a picture with his catch???

Walked up towards that little overpass bridge and between the car, the bridge and Angus and Rocket turning up, I had caught a flattie (i think maybe around 37cm) and a FAT bream. I think the bream may have been around the 30mark. Great workout for my new rod and reel.

And what a great walk. Not quite the estimated 10minutes, but great anyway. A good trek through some tall grass, and we found a few fishy looking spots as well for next time.

Anyway, was great to meet Rocket and Kev, and good to have a fish with Gus as well.

Is that a Pflueger Trion on a SicStik Dostylz?

Mate it certainly is. The trion gx-7, 4lb fireline, sic stick 2-piece 1-3kg.

How nice are the Trions for the $s they cost. I have a 30size with 4lb and 8lb on a 7' 2-4kg SicStik pro. Got my first few fish on it on Friday around the Brisbane river pylons. I was quite impressed with how they both performed.

yep. I was loving it too. The one i have is the smallest one they had... I think it said 25 on it, but its smaller than my 1500 symeter??? Anyway, nice smooth drag when I had that bream pulling on it. I think the wood handle thing had me won over and coz it only cost $80 with the sale.

Yeh i love my Trion GX-7 only paid $79 for it and its 25 aswell but i have 4lb and 15lb, Its got a pretty good drag, i use it a fair bit for snapper with 15lb.

Nah Braid, Get shitloads on, And the mono i use is the thinnest mono around, Shimano stuff, I think its called taipan, even the 20lb is only 0.30, most 20lbs are 0.40-0.45.

hahaha.. you know... When I got home I realised that I must not suck that much and that everyone has days where they just catch nothing. Thought it was just me and my brother that catch nothing :laugh:

yeah I think thats a good way to weed out the catties. But mind you you'll probably catch less overall.

i hate catching bream on live baits esp live prawns though. whenever something takes my livie, i hope they r either a bullshark, a threadfin, a jew or a big cattie, but not a bream.

bream's easy enough to catch on frozen bait or lures. so i'd expect something else when live baiting,. lol

I must admit id prefer a bream to a catty.

Although for muck around fun, I have targeted catties in wivanhoe. Some of the beasts in there are awesome fun on lite gear though. I have caught several over 70cm and seen one caught by my friend that was only just shy of a meter!

I think werewolf can share similar experiences.

good luck catching them though
