Straddy Trip Advice

Morning all,

I'm heading over to straddy tomorrow for my first camping/fishing/drunken good times trip over there and was looking for some advice. Spots to go, gear to use, bait etc...

I haven't been there for a couple of years, I got results right down the bottom end of straddie using an unweighted pillie on my surf rod right on dawn and dusk.You will prob need 4X4 to get to the southern tip.

Dune rocks Hayley.

May favourite.

I have a house over there so fish it a fair bit.

Ill dig up a nice report for you of a breaming session I had off dune rocks.

Also a bloody nice place visually as well.

Other placed well worth trying:

Adder Rock (especially if the weather is average).

Point Lookout.

Amity (Only if the weather is atrocious).

But I would be fishing the rocks around Deadmans and Frencmans beaches myself.

Best advice is don't go for a swim after 4:30pm.

Get a nice livey or slab/whole mullet out on some wire and heavy leader instead.

the rocks at pt lookout and surrounds are well worth a look. really good shark fishing on the inside at amity, as ellicat said, don't swim at dusk. a girl got killed by 3 bullsharks there a while ago...

There's plenty of smaller nippers on the Surfside too

Yep for sure,anywhere around the rocks is good depending on weather or any gutter along main beach is worth a shot.
