Winter Camp 2008 Survey

Dear AFO,

Just a quick question.

Maroon Dam has been finalised as the location for this years Winter Camp.

However we have the option of 1 or 2 nights.

1 Night Option: Rock up Saturday late morning, fish all day, have dinner fish half of Sunday.

2 Night Option: Rock up friday night at about 7:30 (its approx 1.5 hours from Brisbane). Have dinner and socialise. Bed. Hot brekky and an earlier start on the water with a bigger break for lunch and an arvo fish. Saturday night fun and sunday the same.

The only difference in price would a bi extra for dinner and breakfast but not for accomadation :)

I am personally opting for the two nights.

But this will be a democratic vote as we want to benefit the majority.

So please let me know:

A: If you interested in coming at all!

B: If you would prefer 1 or 2 nights.

Looking good guys.

Looks like 2 nights it is.

But would still love more feedback. Especially on numbers as there will be some cabins, but with likely numbers some camping as well.

Another good thing to note is will have a guy paid to watch the boats so we can leave them at the shoreline :)

this one is byo boat isn't it angus?

Jeff its BYO boat or Kayak if you have one.

Steve will have his flotilla there, but i would prefer to save that for people (like me!!!) that have no other choice if you know what i mean.

Give the non boaters a chance.

I would also encourage boaters with plenty of room to maybe take on deckies...

But that will obviously be totally at the disgression of the boater.

Ray: Yeah mate its been tentatively set at about $200.

It was $180 last year but with the extra meals etc add a bit more as discussed.

Of course this is all inclusive and IMO, and based upon feedback from past participants good value.

Cost includes:

Live Shrimp (not a cheap commodity!!).

All meals.

Accomadation.

Fishing Permits.

Fishing Gear if needed.

Boats/Canoes if needed.

Tents if required. (Steve now has 6 x 6man tents).

There may of course be a cheaper rate for those bringing boats but ill have to check.

Obviously its all still on the drawing board. But that will be about the stats mate.

Hey guys I can now confirm some extra details.

Not sure how many yet but....

On the late afternoon/evening of the saturday we will be lucky enough to have some guests doing some fishing presentations. So we get a chance to learn some more techniques and tactics.

Schultzy has confirmed already with a presentation on Trolling up Bass and I have invited some other great names known to you all as well.

Should be an awesome event.
