Ok guys im thinking of organiseing a 4wd/camping/fishing trip up the beach.

Sometime over winter would be idea for the tailor.

Chances are i woiuld go for 4 days. fri/sat/sun/mon. But people can come and go as they please

This is an expression of interest thread.

Obviuosly 4wd.

So who wants to come and has access to a suitable vehicle

Who wants to come but will need a ride.

i'm in, ekka holiday week sounds good. can take a couple more non 4wd'ers if needed. c'mon ellicat... it's only work... you can come in the new prado!!! :) we can have fun pulling kriso's pajero out!!! :silly:

kriso - the beach from tewantin was a piece of piss a couple of weekends ago. there was some rocks there but there were ways around them (i opted to drive over some just coz i could). from tewantin it's an easy run up the beach. from rainbow at the moment in not passable via the beach at all owing to rocks and erosion. the inland track is fine, only sand and a few tree roots.

depending on time would be keen , also the route taken as i have no worries driving on the beach but i dont like dragging my new pajero over rocks just cause it can.

Pussy. Time to trade it in and buy a commodore.:P :P

We would cross the noosa river on the barge. near tewantin. and drive up the beach. No rocks in Site.

I will investigate beach and camping permits.

Next question is: Does everyone bring their own food. Or bulk buy of food and cost shared.

List so Far

1. Shortie (Patrol)

2. Benno (Prado)

3. Kriso (bitsamissin)

4. Jeff F (Benno's Car)

5. Benno step Dad (Prado)

6. Angus maybe (Hairdreser mobile)

No vehicle permit is required unless going to Fraser.

From memory camping is about $6.50 per person per night. the ranger comes around to collect this so no prior planning is required.

i think you have to pre-pay and get permits at the office near the barge across the river. that's what we did last time heading up there i am pretty sure. the price is about right. you think of camping on the beach or in the campsite?

Hadnt really given that any thought. There is plenty of beach to camp on. I cant see bringing family being a problem.

However im not bringing family.

Remembering there will be lotsa blokes, beer and Kriso's humour to contend with.

Ok guys we seem to have enough interest.

So we definately have a trip. So you can organise your leave.

Wed 13 August (Public Hol) , thurs, fri, sat, sun17.

Please confirm definate starters. ASAP so we can organise spare seats in vehicles.

If a mod could kindly add this to the events calender it would also be helpful..

New thread started in fishing events. Rainbow beach trip.

Richard.
