I have been contenplating this question for a little while now, But after reading Batman's awesome report the question is begging to be asked:P

When you hookup or have a good run/strike from a fish and in the end loose it.

Would you prefer a quick snatch, grab, gone? We'll say anywhere between 1-30 seconds of fight.

OR Do you prefer to fight it untill just about the end and basicly loose it at your feet?

Of course we all would rather land the fish, but it just dont always work that way, with many 4 letter words being both shouted and utterd following the loss of a good fish being the norm.

SO what do you prefer?

I dont mind loosing fish either way if thay have beaten me fair and square. But if its a straightened hook, knot failure I get pi$$ed.

I also prefer to know what has just beaten me, I hate it when you get the zzzzzzzzzzzz snap and have no idea what just dusted you

I agree with the captain, I don't mind if the fish beat me fair and square, I sorta like to speculate what it was, but if I find its a loose knot or a straightened hook I get really pissed... but I prefer to know what sort of fish is on the end of my line, dont' really care if I lose it in the end.

You guys are crazy

I much prefer losing it within 10 seconds if Im' going to lose it.

At least you can justify it by saying "oh well, mustn't have hooked it properly". I'll use togas as an example, i'm in love with them atm. Losing a 60-70cm toga within the first 5 seconds like that is just "ok, bummer".

Losing it after it's jumped 4 times and given you some good stick, you've got it to the yak and it shoots off again jumping and then having the hooks pull is really shattering.

So I'll stick with "losing it within the first few seconds"
