Qld Origin Side

Agree, but would play Prince at 7 and Thurston at 6.

Both sides look pretty strong across the park. Hope Thurston can make Hunt look good, he certainly hasn't done anything by himself in attack for the last 3 seasons.

QLD

Billy Slater, Brent Tate, Greg Inglis, Justin Hodges, Israel Folau, Karmichael Hunt, Johnathan Thurston, Carl Webb, Cameron Smith ©, Petero Civoniceva, Michael Crocker, Sam Thaiday, Dallas Johnson. Interchange: PJ Marsh, Ben Hannant, Nate Myles, Jacob Lillyman.

NSW

Brett Stewart, Jarryd Hayne, Mark Gasnier, Matt Cooper, Anthony Quinn, Greg Bird, Peter Wallace, Brett White, Danny Buderus ©, Ben Cross, Ryan Hoffman, Willie Mason, Paul Gallen. Interchange: Anthony Laffranchi, Anthony Tupou, Craig Fitzgibbon, Ben Hornby.

It's a bit of a worry they didn't pick Kite this year - he has been the weak link in the past.

yeah, good way to ensure we don't have a winning side. how they leave prince out is beyond me, i'd almost pick him ahead of thurston. i mean hunt is ok, but nothing like the ball player prince is. defence is average too.

at least they saw some sense and put see-ya-slater in at fullback. i was there in '04 when he scored "that try" :woohoo: sensational. gotta admit though, our backline (other than the 5/8th) looks pretty bloody scary...

who is pj marsh by the way? when did he last have a corker game? why is he in the qld team?

other than those two i can say i agree pretty well with the selectors.

king is in the UK... hayne has done nothing all year, inglis will have him under control anyway. and as for gasnier... well, hodges will be marking him and inglis, falou, hodges, tate and slater all outstrip him for pace... not too scared at all. :woohoo: have faith jordan!!! :woohoo:

Tate Shouldnt be in the side, I would have

Fullback - Karmichael Hunt

Wing - Slater

Wing - Folau

Centre - Hodges

Centre - Inglis

5/8 - Thurston

Half Back - Prince.

You know when billy slater scored "that try" he was playing on the wing.

Thats my pic, My favourite foward is Nate Myles Though, Shots on for that bloke.

i can't remember too much about the rest of that game, it's all a bit hazy  . but definately remember the roar that went up when he touched down on that. most awesome atmosphere i've ever been in. i think from fullback he has more latitude to inject himself in the game when he needs to. with hayne on the wing it is better to have inglis marking him due to the height.

not saying your team isn't any good, i'm sure it would give them a run for their money, i just don't really like hunt! :P safe fullback for sure, but as an attacking option... he is always carried around by those that are better than him.

its a disgrace that prince hasnt been picked:angry: thurston played 5/8 for the dogs so if the selectors had any brains they would have put him at 5/8 and prince half. I think pj marsh was a shock aswell he's only played 68min of football in the past 2 months

How do you guys celebrate such a momentus occasion?

If I don't go to the game I like to watch it on the box by myself (or with a silent Mitch) without interruption so I don't miss anything. It's far too important to be a social occasion.

I like to celebrate afterwards. (or sit in a dark room and sulk for a week if things don't go well)

No, No Neck hasnt been the same since his neck injury, hes not big (Up against the big NSW back line it pays to be big), And he is pretty weak in defence.

Have to agree with you there. He constantly comes off his wing and creates huge overlaps.

Also agree with prince at half back and thurston at five eighth. Hopefully he'll get his chance in game two.

Yeah and Tate cannot tackle to save himself and drops the ball every 2 seconds ... i seriously think that Tate being in the side (along with prince not being in the side) is one of the worst moves that the queensland coaches have made thus far.
