Manly Tailor

Recommended Posts

Just a bit of info, I finished job early today and took a look down at Manly boat Ramp.

Plenty of Roosters fishing but all in the wrong spot.

There was a school of Tailor going nuts only 20m from the rock wall. I watched them for a good half hour working a school of bait in about 2 feet of water.

They were on the left hand side, directly opposite the public boat ramp.

If I had a day off tomorrow thats where I would be headed, poppers and small platics/slugs ready.

They were there about 11am, working the in coming tide.

If the weather is as good as today and you get on to them, save me a few and think of me laying a drain at Augustine Heights:(

How big were they. Ive never caught a tailor on lure, and my biggest on bait would be around 18cm :)

some decent swirls and splash action.

They only came close enough for a visual for a few seconds, looked to be Choppers, around the 30cm mark
