Deckwash system

Hi guys,

I'm looking at setting up a deck wash system in my boat.

I don't want to spend a fortune but after talking to some people in the industry i have sussed out a little bit of an idea of what i am after and how i want to set it up.

Apparently, i need a self priming diaphragm pump because it will be mounted on the inside of my transom and a normal diaphragm pump will not be able to prime water through the 'suck in' hose.

Does anyone have any recommendations of products, brands, suppliers or outlets (ebay, internet or retail) that would be of use to me?

The only kit i've so far looked at was a Jabsco Paramax series 4.0gpm (15lpm), which is $200 with a gun and trigger style tap, complete fittings and pump.

It was definately what i'm after but i thought i'd shop around first.

Thanks all,

Michael

Cheers mate.

I just checked out the Bias website and there isn't much difference in the prices.

They are all around $200, give or take whether i want a coiled hose (which would be handy) and a bait pump (which isn't a high priority)

Question is now, which brand offers the better quality.

Johnson, Jabsco or any others that pop up?

They're only like $12 from Bias Boating.

You can pay more and get better quality ones and others with more gadgets attached, but with my boat i like to keep things cheap and simple.

Cheap and simple = replaceable.

and you know how things are with boats.

You hardly ever get to buy new things for it because the old things ALWAYS need to be replaced.

As they say......
