I got ripped off on Ebay

I got ripped off on Ebay, and Ebay are perfectly happy with it.

Have a look at this listing I won and tell me what I should be paying?

I bought it on a whim, there was 2 minutes to go, no bidders, it was listed as free postage and handling, no insurance available. So I bid 99c and won.

Imagine my reaction when I was billed $11. I complained to Ebay about being ripped off. They pointed out that in the badly written english about half way down the blurb, it was listed as $10 handling fee.

Apparently they consider it perfectly ok for a seller to list the fees as Zero in the postage and handling area, but still charge me $10 because it was listed elsewhere within the blurb.

Its not the amount, but the mongrel could have had $500 listed as the fee, and I would have been stuck with it.

Needless to say I am less than happy.

I had just the opposite in dealing with Ebay.

They have been very helpful of late.

The advert contadicts itself...I reckon you have been scammed.

You can't say free postage and handling, and then charge a handling fee.

There certainly are some ebay scammers out there. I have learnt read read the entire add very carefully. I always read it at least 6 times.

I think you should have been charged at least $500.

.99c for the item and a minimum of $499.01 for bad taste, What the hell is that thing? Looks like a dead fly in a jar of piss.

I agree its a poorly written ad, and no doubt you have been scammed, but I cannot see anywhere where it says that handling is free. The postage is listed as free, but 1/2 way down its says handling cost is $10.

Did you just get too excited at the prospect of owning a piece as lovely as it is and jump before reading it all?

I quite often do a troll for stuff with no bids, 99c starting price, 1 hour to go, sorted on combined post and price.

You get a lot of interesting stuff from China, they do a swag of cheap stuff with free postage to build up their feedback and postage rating before changing to the old "$20" postage scam.
