What a day out on the water with new yak PB's being set. Launched from Colsmlie Reserve about 9am and fished our way up river along the Bulimba rock walls with SX 40/48/60's. By the time we pulled up for a stretch and a bite to eat about 12pm we had nothing:angry: not even a touch.

So with the tide turning and running out I decided to switch to "old faithful" for some devine intervention(manns 5+ in pink and black) what proceeded over the next couple of hours was awesome:woohoo: :woohoo: . We launched after a chook sanga and a drink and my deckie was first to hook up to what would be a nice 45cm flatty on an SX60(I hate it when a deckie gets the first fish but it was also his last lol:laugh:  ) Then it was my turn with a nice a breambo going 29cm.Then as we trolled along the wall the Twin Power 2500 started peeling off drag zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz and after a short but powerful struggle up came a nice 30cm cod. When finished the run we turned the yak arounded and started to double back over our trolling path, as we approached the end of the route we were trolling I said to my deckie "this part of the wall hasn't produced at all not even a touch" then Bang:woohoo: the yak came to a screaming halt the nose turned around slightly and the Twin Power was screaming zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz after a nice fight and with 2 council workers cheering me on from the bank up to the surface came what would surely be my new PB flattyB) so after tiring him out a bit I got a shot at him with the lip grippers and lifted him in and straight on to the brag mate 61cm a new PB for biggest flatty/biggest flatty on HB/biggest yak caught flatty so to say I was happy would be an understatement. By this time it was getting on a bit so we decided to make the peddle back to the launch site trolling as we go, my deckie got a 20cm bream on a min min then as we came past the jetty at Bulimba boat ramp my manns5+ shot off again I thought what could this be as we were in 25ft of water and after a nice fight up came a 38cm tailor another yak PB.

So with another successful day out on the river we called it quits very happy with our efforts and me with smiles from ear to ear and couldn't wait to tell the wife and show her the photo's to prove lures do catch fish not fisherman lol:laugh:   . Very happy with my yak it has opened up a whole new world of fishing opportunities and yes it sure is addictive.

Cheers for reading folks

Were you got the flatty, thats a gun snapper spot in the pylons

Thought about placing the yak right under the pylons in the middle of it all Ando and dropping mask vibs or a few 7" nuc chooks to the bottom and work them up back thru the water colum but the 30meter rule has me running scared at the moment even though the terminal isn't used at the moment as far vas I know

Just a tip, im pretty sure river squire, enjoy 3 and 4icnh soft plastics rather than 7inch :). Easyer to use with a light jighead to if their holding in the top water colum, or finniky.
