Copyright Question?

Hi fellow members, I have found a realy good article about photographing fish, theres some really good tips and practises to be learned in this article. I want to share them with fellow members, but I'm unsure if I can lawfully copy the article and post it on site?

For those of you interested the article is in Australian Adventure Angler, Tips and Techniques issue #14.

Anybody know about the copyright laws regarding this?

as long as you credit the author and don't sell it, it should be ok. to be safer, just post the link to the site. no law against that no matter what.

The copyright act says you can only copy something for your own personal use or research.

You have to get permission of the author to publish anything. This includes posting on the internet.

When I copy a post from another forum I always ask permission before posting.

If you breech copyright laws the penalties are very severe.

Thanks guys, I'll look into it. As I think members would enjoy the read.

Or maybe Schulzy has writen an article regarding this subject?

I would love to post a link mate, but I have the article in a magazine. You know them paper things you buy in a newsagent, us old fellas used them before the computer age;) :laugh: :laugh: :laugh:

I may have to check these "magazines" thingo's out, they seam pretty interesting :laugh:

Dunno for sure about the copywrite. Maybe if you put in references and a bibliography under it, it may be fine.

Does it say any specific things in the article or on the index page or where ever the copywrite things would usually be?
