Hi All,

My name is Scott and I am a single dad from Thornlands.I have 3 children aged 10, 8 & 5. Out of the 3 kids, the middle one is like his oldman and just can't get enough of fishing. I own a 6m Nesscraft boat which is fibreglass and was designed for abalony divers in South Australa,so a boat designed to handle Bass Straight conditions as you can appreciate handles the sea very well.I mainly fish in the bay but do adventure outside quite a bit in winter to target my favorite fish Snapper. Over the years I have caught some real snoggers with the biggest 10.6kg coming from the bay. I tend to only keep Snapper these days up to about the 4kg mark, any bigger and I release them so hopefully my kids can get the same enjoyment out of these "Big Old Man Snapper" in the years to come. Anyway that will do for now thanks for the opportunity to join your club and I look forward to chating whith some of you in the near future.

Cheers

Scott

Hey Scott,

Welcome to the site. I am sure you will have no problem filling a boat like that with deckies from here.

Mate there is plenty to learn from and give back to this site, so sit back, relax and start reading.

Look out for some upcoming fishing trips, where we can meet up, compare tall stories and share a tin or 2.

Thanks everone for making me feel really welcome.

Fishyman: I am a fully converted plastics fisherman. Even when I go offshore I never take any bait with me only my trusty soft plastic kit.Sometimes I might jig some livies and send them down if nothing else is working.

Kriso: I think the biggest tip I can give for what works for me is find the bait schools be patient and always use as light as leader and jighead as possible to suit the conditions. You don't need to be on the bottom to catch big snapper.

Mack_ Attack: Yes I take pictures of all my fish so I will put up some shortly including the "Big Fella"@ 10.6kg

Thanks once again guys for the warm welcomes and hope to catch up soon

Cheers

Scott

Thanks Lee,

I see you have caught a 48cm Bream? Thats a horse mate well done. Thats one thing I would love to know is where to fish to nail one of those big fella's. I went down to the Hummingbird fishing comp last weekend and there was a 1.78kg bream in the display box.It was so clean and a real light silver in colour which I am thinking would have come from the ocean?

48cm is my biggest on lure, I caught a 52.5cm on a full pilly off the rocks up at Noosa. If you fish some of the better rock platforms around the place you will nail a big one sooner or later

Mate thats awesome you fish plastics because hopefully thats what i intend to become proficient at once the boat comes. Snapper on plastics is something that has really caught my attention as of late and its got me hooked :P

cant wait to see the pics mate, you seem like a very knowledgable person who will make a welcome addition to the site.

But, be warned i may ask you a few questions regarding the old snapper on plastics subject :P hahaha

Thats fine fishyman we all need to start somewhere. The onething I love about plastics is there is no right or wrong way to work them. As long as you present the plastic on the jighead properly you can try all different types of movement with them. My son out fishers me all the time on plastics as he moves the rod around in all directions (as kids do) and the fish seem to love it. His biggest knobbie is over 8kg on plastics so as you can see there is definately no rules on what you can and can't do in my books.

Cheers

Scott
