  1. Had a mate ask ifI knew of someone who was reliable and reasonably priced who could weld up a bracket for a bow mount on his tinny and build up the transom. Preferably redlands or on southside. I thought that there were a few recent posts but cannot find them. Cheers Ray
  2. Must have spent a few years in the river not as well fed as in the dams. Cheers Ray
  3. Look up some of Darryl Mcphees (spelling)posts he fishes there landbased for some really good fish.
  4. I am lucky no driving for a week and no lifting more than 5kg for a month . I interpret that as no NPD forkies for a month.
  5. NPD area 3 this morning with glass out that turned into drizzling rain and then fining up. Fish were scattered being located on fad 4 , the floats , the tip of the island and on the drop off near fad 0. 39 bass, one lone yella and 25 southern strain of large mouth barra between 20cm and 57cm. The big ones certainly give you a work out. We could have caught a lot more but Neil objected to them grunting at him. Did out shrimp pots on the way back and disappointed to find most of them empty. Few other boats out so hopefully will see their reports. Some of the photos bit iffy as lens of camera got wet in the rain.
  6. They even talk to you. NPD today. Several captured.
  7. Hinze western arm 7/3/24. Extremely slow day at the western arm today. Plenty of shags roosting on Ians island. After doing shrimp traps we went upstream and could not find a fish in our usual spots. We went up as far as the barrage for 3 isolated bass with largest 37cm and one barred grunter for the eagle that followed us all morning.

  9. Donuts at western arm this morning. Neils wife packed some chocolate ones so we did not miss out. Shrimp were extremely scarce with a lot of pots empty and only a few had shrimp in them. As a result we had ran out of bait by 9am, 17 bass one tandan ,one eel and only 2 barred grunter for a hungry eagle.
  10. Upstream ? We went downstream a little and water appeared clearer maybe we should have gone to Queen street. Hinze western arm on thursday .
  11. Donut again at Somerset with Rick and Joy, Launched at kirklea went as far as powerlines with live shrimp. Donut result enjoyed pies at Fernvale,
  12. Brian any prawns around islands

    No Donut,

Went to NPD this morning/ At least we did better than our disastrous donut trip to the Hinze eastern arm on thursday. Took us 6 hours before the only 29cm bass was boated. 27 forkies kept us entertained prior. Forkies up to 55cm. Quite surprised how clear the water is and very little debris. I fully expected that our shrimp pots would have been swept away but they were all there.
  14. From Ausfish We NEED YOUR SUPPORT once again to have the Mary River and its tributaries Declared a new NET FREE ZONE above the Great Sandy Marine Park boundary ( approx. Beaver Rock upstream ). Please sign this e-petition sponsored by Maryborough's local member Bruce Saunders and share it with all your like-minded family and friends - we NEED 10,000+ signatures from within Qld for this to be tabled in parliament - and this is an election year Sign here :- https://www.parliament.qld.gov.au/Wo...etails?id=4021 Thanks Scotto
  15. Donut day for 3 of us today at western arm. 6 hours with live shrimp and not even a barred grunter. We did get a wet bum and some windburn.
  16. Four of went to zone 3 to see if we could find some bass on live shrimp. Spent a bit of time foraging for lost shrimp pots that had been displaced in the recent rise. Only one one 17cm bass located at the floats with 29 to 30 cm forkies at every location. We found a school of larger ones in between the 2 islands with quadruple hook ups of 50cm forkies making things interesting. I did not keep a tally but a constative estimate of 60 forkies made,
  17. Another slow day at the eastern arm this morning. We were able to recover our shrimp pots that were submerged when the dam rose, Most of the the shrimp in them were dead and stunk the boat out but we still got enough to have a fish. We initially went upstream but could not find a fish on the sounder so we went downstream and managed to catch 14 bass and 2 tandans. The fish were scattered and between 14 and 30 feet and the only plus hardly any barred grunter to steal our sparse shrimp. Very large flock of shags just seemed to be resting on the water when we were on way back to ramp,
