Still, there's only a few points between the bottom and 3rd place.
  2. Wow, sounds a bit too hectic for me. How was the ramp rage ?
  3. Good day out, but played with fire and got burnt - that's not what the doctor ordered. haha
  4. The water always looks so good with fog on it. Good numbers. Worth the drive.
  5. Let us know how you get on.
  6. Fun read, but such a frustrating day. Plenty of time to reflect in the traffic. Those grinners seem to be in big numbers all around the bay lately.
  7. Good score. You needed to give yourself a get well gift. haha
  8. Yeah, no chance. @Terry H used to target the ones at Moreton on his 80W and epic battles ensued with a few landings on the beach. Wouldn't happen at the jetty, like you said, Ed. I would have thought they would be more commonly seen there ??
  9. Yep, that's the way to reply. It is a stones throw from the ramp at Victoria Point, like a few hundred metres, Have a look on Google Maps. It's actually called Coochiemudlo Island. Pretty small, but a 30 minute battery would not be enough. Definitely look to up the battery amp hours to give yourself a few hours of moving and fishing. If cost isn't an issue, look at getting a lithium battery. Reversing trailers is one of my least favoured tasks, but you would get better the more practice you have. Viccy Point ramp on the Coochie side is a long reverse, so I wouldn't practice there.
  10. It did glass out later in the morning, but too late for us. You did well, all things considered.

  12. Got a good feed of one of the best fish on the plate, so worth the trip. We too were tricked by the forecasters. I headed out to Harry's with son Mitch. He got seasick after getting smoked twice by very good fish. Launched about 4.30, returned to ramp at 7.15 wet, shaken, and cold. Met @Another Wazza out there too. He battled on in the conditions. How far out did you go to get a Pearly ?
  13. Definitely get a sounder on your yak. Cruise around Coochie and you will find some reefy structure that can produce snapper and bream. 4/0 circle with some cuttlefish for bait.
  14. Jagged a barred grunter this morning....just not quite big enough for the plate.
  15. Went out with @Another Wazza today and he was close to negative 10 with the grinners. Very quiet day that started with a 37 snap to Wazza on a plastic. After that the most exciting thing was loading up the Sabiki jig with some lollipop yakkas and a few pike.
  16. Well done, Max !! Nothing better than a surprise like that.
  17. Welcome to the AFO forum, @Nrgised. A tough one. My first instinct would be to go the 9' to enhance your ability to land some of the bigger specimens like Yellowtail Kingfish, Cobia, Spanish Macks, Mulloway etc that you are a chance of getting off the rocks around SEQ. But you will lose casting distance with the heavier and shorter rod. The 10'9" rod would be my next pick. Casting distance and the ability to load up with a heavier lure should see you reach a bit further with a cast. The 10'3" would be the most fun to fish with, but paired with a decent reel should get you there mostly, but would be more difficult to control a fish from the bottom of the rocks once you get a fish close. I think you could end up with a collection. haha
