  1. First legal Jew is definitely a milestone Brian congratulations. The port of brissy is where I finally cracked my first jewy also. It’s a great spot for those that put in the work!!
  2. Nice work mate was that around brissy?
  3. Pretty sure there’s a size limit on your font. All jokes aside like Hamish said stick to a cast net. Traps similar to your one are only used for bait collection in fresh water.

    Fishing Tasmania

Hi all I will be in Tasmania in Feb next year travelling on the west coast just wondering if any one knows of any decent charter operations on the west coast, as I can only see ones on the eastern side, cheers
  6. Awesome work yet again Hamish!! A small fish bag with a few ice bricks would serve you well when travelling. dispatch and fillet the fish straight away put fillets in a plastic bag and straight in the cooler bag.
  7. nice session there Hamish well done. I also refer to those fish as sole. We used to catch them as kids as far up the river as colleges crossing during times of severe drought I even had a few in my native fish tank for a while when I was a kid
  8. Excellent work again Hamish some good fish there!!

Keep trying, some people take years to nail their first big Jewie. Some people never get one so don’t be discouraged if it takes you a while to work out the big jewfish code. They can be a hard fish to work out. My best success has come from the deeper holes around the tide changes in the colder months at night time. Anchored up or land based with livies
  12. Also on a positive that’s a great haul there guys sounds like an unreal session
  13. Would not surprise me one bit if it was a recreational fishers pot not belonging to at least two of the three parties involved
  14. Living the dream Tugger!! Good on yas
  15. Yeah plus for brekky creek, we used to drive all the way from Ipswich to fish that spot at night when we first got our drivers license. Saw and caught plenty of great salmon there! Saw a 75cm snapper landed next to me during times of drought and high salinity.
