  1. Every year around Christmas I pull my bearings out and re-pack them. I was just going over this again before I head out to the shed. Bump for anyone who hasn't checked their bearings in a while.
  2. I had to learn how to do it the hard way with my old boat when I pulled up at the rigging zone at the ramp, and realised the bearing had blown out and the wheel was just free-spinning on the axle, ready to fall off at any time! Since then I do them every year and check them every few months. No wisdom on how to find the right size sorry, but you will know pretty quickly if you got the wrong ones, and supercheap were happy to exchange them when I bought the wrong ones. Just test it out before you fill them with grease! I use the cans of degreaser to clean up the grease, does a good job!
  3. I have always found burleying in the river just means losing more baits to the millions of catties and sharks around the place... but i suppose that means its doing it's job?
  4. Plenty of hot spots arond there, submerged rock wall at pinkenba, mouth of boggy creek, the rock wall right at the mouth, any of the wharves and the drop-offs all over the place, just to name a few. Read the signs at the ramp to make sure you know about the exclusion zones, and good luck!
  5. Thanks for going to so much effort there Feral. One question, when all is done and the bearings are on ( before the wheels are back on) how much should the hub spin? When i did mine they only spun about 1 full revolution when being spun with one finger. Havnt had a look at how they are since taking it on the road. I was hoping it would loosen up after a good run Woody
