  1. Hey Booty the only to be sure is to pull one out. For memory the outer circumfrance is the same for both but the ford axle taper is the larger one. Most are ford a good starting point is to give the trailer supplier a call they will tell you what they use. Be sure to get ones with marine seal for the rear of the bearing. And now o am reminded that mine need doing
  2. Yeh the gear that Brian (ellicat) said and as Booty said preventative maintainance is best BUT still be prepaired I get my boat serviced regularily and things still fail now and then. And one time after running the boat at home befoe going down to the ramp and then starting it on the trailer and driving it off the trailer it would not start after turning it off at the pontoon. Turns out it was a small bit of corrosion under the distribuator. The hardest part of keeping tools on a boat is rust. I keep mine in a piece of 100mm PVC pipe with water tight ends and a couple of those silca bags fron the new tv in with them. A small cloth bag with rice works aswell and if you get wrecked on a tropical island you will have some rice to go with your fish.
  3. Thanks Tony, oh well if I dont get a shot this week I will be back next week. Although after the fishing I got into in the Straits last week I am pretty pumped with fishing at the moment and it would be hard to take if I didnt land any
  4. Hi Tony, what time is high tide tomorrow as I am in town at the moment. I am busy this arvo and shooting out to Ravenshoe in the morning and back to Cairns for a 3:30 meeting. I will get a chance to have a fish thursday arvo and maybe early fri morning
  5. Oh yeh there is one other rule on my boat, that is first to use the dunny cleans it,still hasn't been used
  6. You get that now and then Gaz try not to let it put it off offering deckie spots up, what I do is be up front about costs as a lot of guys dont know the cost of running a large boat off shore I found that a fuel sensor gives the guys a good indercation of fuel used and stops them feeling they are being touched when you tell them how much it costs to run to hucthies and back as people think that boats have the same economny as cars and are quite surprized when they see that you are burning 30 plus liters per hour.
  7. I have seen at the boat show I think trailers where the front section of the draw bar folded back to shorten up the storage space needed, cant remember what breed though.
  8. Last week there was a little old ski boat on a trailer up the road from my place for sale. Iam sure you could shoe horn a big block hemi:woohoo: into it and the front would make a great casting deckB)
