Hey everyone.....been a while. Moved to the Gold Coast recently. I've got a bunch of herring I froze post-cast netting sessions a couple of months back. Thinking of butterflying them and heading out to the Seaway. So I'm just wondering a couple of things..... - Hook placement in a butterflied herring - what's most effective for hook placement? And one or two hooks? - Any recommendations for tides? - I'm landbased - do I hit the very end or somewhere in the middle? Thanks for having me back!

Do you mind me asking whereabouts at VIccy Point, Darryl? My folks moved down a year or so but I haven't found anywhere land based that I really like yet.

for the sake of everyone on this site tho.....can we just agree to be specific when posting open invites for deckies?? if you've got people who you've been out with before and they know the score, just PM them. otherwise...just let everyone know the deal - that way, no complaints later!!! although.....if you pump yourself up as a good fisho and captain and fail to deliver the goods.......well......that's another matter hahahahaha

sounds like there's a fair concensus for putting up some expectations when you post deckie spots - sounds like a good way to do it.....ie: 'deckie spot, river mouth saturday 5am.....half and half in fuel, BYO food & drink, bait supplied' or whatever shame you had such a crap experience mate. a thank you doesn't take much......
