  1. Through all that waffle I did take away one good point. Very few new members these days. Need to do a member drive
  2. least the issue is solved next time teak north, sabotage during the comp not before it!
  3. Hey team its that time again to get this ball rolling. I’ve created a poll with some options for the dates. I’ll close the voting on the 28th so I can get the come details up before I go away on holidays. Team North forever!
  4. just go for the halco premade trace. some people will say that the snap clip will bend but its not happened to me. go for the 20inch if you can. 60-80lbs is plenty
  5. i have heard of people using sharks this size as bait for bigger models. dog eat dog world out there
  6. Howdy all, given its been a cooler start to October, i wasn't hopeful but we gave it a crack anyway to see if we could get some early season shark action and show the kids as well. we had a few runs with one hookup which ended in a 94cm model. was very skinny though, i would say that it isn't that old and hasn't had a chance to gorge itself on pine river mullet and other small fish. I hope to get back a few more times before Xmas now that i know they are around. Get stuck into them folks! not many better easily catchable sports fish available all across SEQ that compare! these things run hard, sometimes jump out of the water and are just alot of fun. 4000 sized reel, 20lbs braid, 60lbs wire trace and 7/0 circle hook, freshwater eel bought form Tackle world lawnton
  7. just out of curiosity, did you just park your car at the donnybrook boat ramp or close to it with no issues?
  8. fish will be a bonus lol happy to get out for a break more than anything!
  9. thanks @benno573 mozzie coils are a good idea. ill surround my self with them.
  10. Hey all, im planning a solo camping trip from my Kayak in the coming months at Mission Point. Just wondering if anyone had advice on their favoured camp spots there? I've read that as far from the toilets as possible is a good idea that and 5 litres of insect repellent as a must
  11. what a trip! just out of curiosity, how much fuel did you go through?
  12. i used to always use Navionics app on my iphone in the boat. was fantastic and i had no issues all the way over to Moreton island. alternatively, you could always get a pocket wifi. depending on who you are with at home, the provider can sometimes throw one your way which links to your home internet deal for free. otherwise you can buy prepaid pocket wifi to just use for this. i wouldn't imagine it would use alot of data if it was just for Navionics? https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/optus-4g-modem-50gb-zte-mf971rs4-optzte50gb
  13. bris river jacks are a very hard to catch fish, very rare. they do exist though and yeah there is always a chance of threadies. solid flathead, keep it up just out of curiosity, do you live north or south of the river lol always looking for new Suburbs of Origin Team North members!
  14. does sound sharky. its worth chuckink a 80lbs trace on just to increase your chances to see what it is
  15. hey mate, looks like a small GT to me. just fyi too, for land based youve done well. especially on plastics. the flathead ive caught at boggy creek landbased have all been small too. that area is great for flathead. if you ever get the chance, a small kayak around that area produces flathead really well
  16. i know the ramada has a open parking lot behind the hotel with heaps of space. there is often big boats parked there. its very close to the ramp too. red circle is the hotel and the yellow highlight is the parking area
  17. as said above. as long as permission is granted i dont see it as an issue, i doubt fisheries would either. no a whole lot different to you driving the boat while the son and law actually grabs the pots on your behalf
  18. when you say it like that...not so crazy regardless. would love to see Panthers get smashed
  19. ambitious...cant see it happening PAnthers vs cowboys GF. a game all qlders would all get behind
