    One more tip, join your local VMR. You might never need it, but it's a nice feeling knowing someone is sitting there waiting for your call.

    The day before I go fishing, I always run my motor at home for 5 minutes. I cant count the number of times I've seen people put their boat in at the ramp and have to pull it back out again. Things seem to go wrong if it hasn't been run for a while.
