  1. Looks like a bit like a Belgian Shepherd?? Beautiful pup anyway
  2. If it were me I'd spend my money elsewhere. For around that price you could get something from Samaki, Pflueger, Daiwa or the likes and have a really good rod that when the time comes to upgrade you'll still be able to get some $$ back on. There may be absolutely nothing wrong with them, but why risk it when there are plenty of rack rods that are more than capable?
  3. Yeah mate, the bearings in them are pretty poor.
  4. There will be bass there. As far as I'm aware the river or a tributary of it was once stocked but that has now stopped I think, perhaps one of the guys closely involved with the stocking groups can give some more info on that. My suggestion would be to launch the kayak and just start fishing it, you'll soon work out whether it is a viable location or not.
  5. Alright, Im going to have a go at this but reviews are not my strong point, you've been warned! Product: Shimano Stradic FJ 1000 Type: Spinning reel Colour: Pearl white finish Price: Around $200 Quality: Very good Experience: I have been using my two Stradics for some time now and am very impressed. These reels have spent a lot of time hanging off the side of the kayak getting dunkings (fresh and salt), I have used them just about every week for the last couple of years, I've caught many many fish on them- including some absolute brutes and they're still hanging in there doing the job for me. As a quality reel on a reasonable budget you'd be hard pressed to find better. Pros: Good line capacity, smooth drag, maintenance port, Xship, wind-in handle (my favourite part). Cons: Drag clicker spring loses tension over time, bearings can become quite noisy. Mods: These are a pretty fun little reel to play with if you are so inclined, I have upgraded the single drag washer to a carbontex one and have also replaced the 2 bushings in the handle with bearings which makes it a little smoother with the added advantage of metal in place of plastic. I have also taken measurements of all the internal bearings and will upgrade them over time and will also add an extra one to replace another plastic bushing, this will bring the bearing count on par with a Sustain.
  6. Yeah that's true Justin it has been a while between sessions. We'll tee up a bass session on the river soon mate
  7. Wow, pretty sure you didn't have any of these the last time we had a fish together, bit of a spend up in recent times hey?
  8. I don't care by how much Melbourne win I just want dassa to shut up
  9. Maybe more epic but Corso seems more loyal and "user friendly", whilst still being a fantastic guard for the home. And Corso is Italian, Canario is Spanish, how could I have a Spanish dog??
  10. Does anyone here have a Cane Corso?
  11. Maybe you should take up pottery instead, fishing doesn't seem to be your thing. Then again maybe pottery isn't either as you need patience for both.
  12. What about youngy? ...and from memory wasn't Angus working at Anaconda at some stage? And Jords now
  13. I agree totally, you are young and will learn quickly. The best advice I can give you is to do your best sponge impression Learn the product, talk to other staff members and customers alike and take everything in. You are already off to a good start by looking at places in a field you are interested in, if I started out that way I would probably still be in retail.
  14. Back when I was in retail it was 14 and 3 months
  15. Oh man he is such a nice little pup, makes me want a staffy
  16. Mate you've got a lot of experienced fishos on here that are more than willing to help you out, I find crap like that just plain rude. You don't seem to be willing to take on the tips and techniques that you are given, why? I understand that you are young and just want to get out there and catch something (don't we all) and also transport is an issue, but try to get out there and learn a few things that work for YOU, not everyone else. Spend more time in your local area and learn it's intricasies and you might be pleasantly surprised.
