They are very good quality and worth the money if you can afford them. I won't buy one... I don't look after my gear very well.

We have some good weed growing in the lake at Oysterworld. I would be keen to give that a try down at the port.

Nice one mate. Do they release at all if pulled out of the deep or are they like mulloway?

Not sure why I got 2 quotes soz. These ones are in Scrubby Creek that flows into the Logan River. They are at JJ Smith Park in Marsden. It is very muddy water there and we did some underwater filming a few months ago as a baseline and found very few fish. There are some fish like dudgeons, catties, eels, swordtales, mollies, etc. as well as prawns and such. We found no bass or cod sadly. We assume that the bass cant breed there as there are a few fish passage barriers that stop them getting back from when they breed in the salt water. Cod probably won't breed as there is very little snags for them to lay their eggs on. These fish hotels are an attempt to bring back some fish habitat. We will be putting oyster baskets in the lower reaches of the Logan in a few spots and hopefully more fish hotels. We are doing planting events so that one day the snags will naturally come back. Also we are removing 2 fish passage barriers. After they are gone a re stocking event would be great. If you want to know more or want to get involved, go to the OzFish site. https://ozfish.org.au/projects/logan-river/ https://ozfish.org.au/ozfish-membership/

It doesn't lock down very well. Takes ages to click it in. The paint has all come off the housing for the motor. The gps glitches out quite a bit and takes you for a run. I have had to take it back for warranty stuff when it wouldn't boot up. That sort of thing.

Nice one mate. Well done.

Nice one mate. That's a huge trip. I only had 2 weeks for the cape haha. I need to take a leaf out of your book and do longer trips. Stupid work...
-
Good one mate. Sounds like you know the area well. I look forward to more blog posts.

Looks great mate. Well done. A huge improvement. Good luck with the fish on the next trip.

Gold. That would make for some funny pranking.

Do you fish like this?

Pro tip. If you charge the battery before you go out they work a lot better... I have the motor guide. I don't rate it at all except it has a track/heading thing where you can set it to continue heading in the direction you are traveling in. Perfect for running along casting to the snags in a creek or a rockwall.

Broncos made 360 tackles to 240 from the storm. While i agree Storm were very good... you cant win a game with that many mistakes... 67% completion rate and 15 errors Not a great game but glad the QLDrs are doing well in the storm.

Hey fishing champions. we are wanting to purchase 2 yaks for our group. We will be using them for a few different things and I wanted to see if you could recommend a brand or model. We will be using them for; clean up events for places where it is hard to get a boat to. deploying fish hotels like these ones Other messy work and perhaps some fishing. Wanting a depth sounder and wondering if we want peddle power. I was thinking we should get tandem yaks so that we can choose to take 2 persons or a person and a load of stuff. They will get muddy so something easy to clean would be good. Some of us are fat bastards so good stability and weight carrying capacity would be very important. Any thoughts or advice? Also advice on sounders for yaks. Happy to pay for the better models. DB

So much fun. We got a few at the break wall at the port of Brisbane this week as well. Seems it is still a very healthy fishery. Thanks for the post Daryl. I'm heading to Minjerriba on Sunday. I will throw a few slugs around and see if they are there.
