That's good. Does the DC make it worth it at all? Reading that generally most people can get further cast with the non dc model. Not really worried about birds nest after I've been using the cheapest one possible for a while lol and I'm imagining that a much better baitcaster would be harder to birds nest.

I've been using a Jarvis walker baitcaster (the $60 one and it was 2nd hand) for a while now and have really got the hang of it. They're the same price which would you choose? Can you really cast that much further with the DC? My budget is $300 and anaconda has a deal that curado comes with braid and a rod for free so that factors in as well.

Going for the first time to wivenhoe as the MIL lives nearby and the wife will be there for hours. Never fished there (or freshwater) before, any tips. Any locations I should go (land based) don't mind getting into it to get to a good spot. Using lures and hoping for some bass or cod. Any tips besides throwing in the wind to get the lure further? Using a bait caster and have another egg beater as back up Any pest fish I should know about besides carp? Also going to throw a trap in for yabbies, I've heard red claws are a pest there, can anyone confirm and if so do I still have to throw back the egg carriers?
