  1. I have just started using J-Braid so I hope not I do notice my knots slip a lot more when tying heavier leader to light braid though so it could be that. Maybe try doubling the braid before tying to leader.
  2. Out of curiosity, what brand lines are you using? I have seen a couple of your posts say your line was snapping or weakened at the knot and wanted to know if it was the brand you are using. I've been using braid to leader for 15+ years and have only been snapped by snags or fish bigger than the breaking strain.
  3. Ed and the guys at 'Hooked On' usually have the biggest range of fresh or live baits, I don't think I've seen many yabbies for sale though. You can always pull up to the big sand banks across from 'T-Boats' and pump them yourself, it's always funner to catch your own.
  4. It might be a bit late now but Hastings Street area is a good base. You can walk the entire shore of the woods bay which holds a lot of different fish at any time of the day, around the corner of the bays will take you along the dog beach and river mouth, watch out for the current here as it really rips at the end of the tides. You can fish most of the main beach stretch but from the mouth to the middle rock wall will be your best bet to avoid people swimming. The jetty around the Sheraton will hold a lot of bream. If you're keen you can go to the top of the national park car park and walk out to Granite Bay for rock fishing, otherwise head back towards Noosaville along Gympie Terrace or Weyba Road, Weyba is a lot quieter and has some really good sand and weed beds. Good luck mate, post any catches you get here.
  5. Cheers for the advice guys. Been doing as much research as I can fit in on lunch breaks and I’m really keen to get into some new waters. Looking to buy an electric motor in the next week or two which will give us that little bit more confidence for looking around new structure.
  6. Hi all, new here! Grew up fishing the Noosa river with my younger brother, 15-20 years later we have just bought a bigger tinny than the 11ft x 6hp we used to strap around in. We keep the boat at his place in Noosa but I live in Brisbane and I'm keen to get into the bay to chase some pelagics or the river for some salmon or jewies, typically I always use lures but i'll never say no to a live bait session. Any tips or tricks you can share will be much appreciated, particularly how far into the bay we would have to venture to chase decent fish will be handy. 4.2m Stacer x 30hp Yamaha - Lures - Brisbane - Noosa
