  1. Great, thanks for your report. Good to see that you caught a variety of fish, well done. Looking forward to your next sea fishing adventure.
  2. Shows how great this spot is. If I was fishing in one of the lakes in Canberra then this would be completely impossible.
  3. A friend of mine convinced me to try night fishing. We did and caught two good sized Murray Cod. See the video report below:
  4. Yes, most of my freshwater fishing happens early in the morning, shortly after sunrise. On hot sunny summer days, Murray Cod usually stop biting by 8:30am. On cloudy or foggy summer days, the feeding activity may continue till around 9:30am. In winter, you can start even later as sun comes up later.
  5. Thanks @ellicat @dnardy Have a look at the drone photo below of the rocks on the North-East side of North Durras Beach right before Point Upright. These rocks are safe to fish from on low tide. There are three natural rock platforms, numbered #1 to #3. My favorite one is #2 as you are least likely to get snagged here and landing a fish here is not too difficult. Darker areas marked with red X have too many underwater rocks making it too easy to get snagged, avoid these areas especially if you are using sinker. Areas marked with green V have sandy bottom and are the best areas to target when using sinker. Areas marked with orange V have some underwater rocks but not too many. I don't like fishing from platform #1 as fishable area is too shallow and there is a long rocky section that you have to cross before you can land your fish. Similarly, platform #3 is just too rocky, making getting snagged too easy and landing too difficult. The area marked with red line in front of platform #2 is how far you can walk out on low tide which helps with both casting and landing hence why platform #2 is my favorite. I have caught following species here: - Salmon - Taylor - Flathead - Snapper - Sole fish - Banjo Shark - Wirrah Cod - Green Eel People dive in this area too and they report seeing Drummer, Groper and Blackfish too. Although, I have never caught or seen those species myself in this area.
  6. Uriarra Road side when I am fishing at Molonglo River. The map below shows 5 parking spots in the area: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC9LUwj-kj0wH5BTQ3sVhqjw/community?lb=UgxEMee2O5c0MVREGnV4AaABCQ
  7. Thanks mate. Yeah, this is a good spot due to Bengello Creek that flows into sea here. However, you can improve results here by using burley.
  8. Had the opportunity to return to Bengello Beach after a long time and had a good session (burley was required). See video report below:
  9. Thanks mate. The spots are all documented under the Community tab of my channel, here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC9LUwj-kj0wH5BTQ3sVhqjw/community?lb=UgkxX7xxK1OosaCSzD4dGLbMRVhpo6ll0E6-
  10. Never done any fishing in Condamine River but internet says that it is one of the largest catchments in the Murray-Darling Basin and harbours some of the best Murray Cod and Yellowbelly fishing in Queensland. So, great choice of fishing destination. Most of the websites I have seen on internet seem to suggest using spinner baits as a good way of catching Murray Cod. Here are two examples: https://www.fishingworld.com.au/news/report-the-condamine-cod-trail http://www.fishingmonthly.com.au/Articles/Display/19946-Snag-a-big-cod-along-the-Condamine However, best to have a backup method if spinner baits don't work due to some reason. Live Yabbies and Cheese works well for Murray Cod here in Canberra and I think the same should work in Queensland too. Note however that fishing is not allowed in the following areas all year round: Condamine River: From 100 m upstream to 200 m downstream of Chinchilla Weir From 100 m upstream to 200 m downstream of Loudon Weir From 100 m upstream to 200 m downstream of Lemon Tree Weir From 100 m upstream to 200 m downstream of Yarramalong Weir From 100 m upstream to 200 m downstream of Cecil Plains Weir From 27º02.24' south, 149º57.12' east (approximately 14 km upstream from the weir) to 200 m downstream of Reilly's Weir https://www.daf.qld.gov.au/business-priorities/fisheries/recreational/recreational-fishing-rules/closed-seasons-waters/freshwater-areas Good luck with your fishing in Condamine River. Share photos in this forum if you catch anything.
