Hey guys sorry that i do not upload my catches lots I have been moving into boarding for a while and have only been home for 3 weekends this month did not go for jacks but did explore the seaway more had a little session first weekend when i had my grandparents over and managed to get a big flatty in the arvo did not fish anymore that weekend then i went out and went for a flick landbased next weekend right on sunday night also did not fish much had to be home collecting extras but on the 3rd weekend we had a hour seaway session inside the walls and got tons of bigeyes pretty fun. Gonna have a jack session soon hoping for this one to be the one number 8 is a lucky number I have a 200hg curado on a bass raider 3-6kg which i use for plastics and topwater and a 4000 with 30lb on it on a 5-10kg rod for livies like some smaller mullet and a big 5000 reel on a 10-15kg rod with 40lb for big mullet gonna just go landbased at a secret spot and see how it goes. Have not gotten into the hard body and jerkbait game yet lookin to get into it when i upgrade my boat gonna get a new minn kota riptide and a better, lighter casting deck for my tinny thinking about getting a dobyns fury 10-17lb rod with a bait caster on it Im looking for a reel around the under 400$ mark I know the curado just looking for a more optimal reel for fishing hard bodies in the canals

also wondering what gram micro jig i should use for the north wall.

yeah cast net bait is not as good as pike and it is pretty easy if you know your spots

Hey guys i had a little seaway session very early and a couple days ago i removed my casting deck and just kept my e motor and battery in my boat we tried to get some yakka on the pipe but it did not work we kept on trying but it did not work realised after when i was home that you can use pike as bait and you can get them from the mouth at loders on 2.5" grubz. in the last hour we decided to chase some bigeyes on the wall that we saw on the sounder it was so good bagging out at 14 nice sized fish some being 50cm it was great just using a set of old soft plastics we used ecogear grass minnow ms and they were so good wondering if anybody had a newer upgraded better version with the same deisgn? Looking to hit up the seaway and the broadwater more. Im also going to traul the broadwater canals like paradise point and tha tbig island just north of pehraim with some pointers and a evergreen grand searcher. Also gonna try to flick the pipe with some microjigs and 5" and 7" plastics.

Hey guys i am back here on this topic I have had my first couple weeeks of boarding school I am keen to go on. a boat trip my boat is in southport I would like to have a crack at runaways bays canals this time earlier too just so i can have a little try at the trev action there I hav eheard that it is good for jacks but not really sure as basically all of the vids from the slow rolling youtubers fish in coomera but i will haev to trust dougie on this one has anyone been?

uh mate i live in southport not the cape just looking for good areas to get a jack as i have not had any luck with geolocating spots on youtube please tell me where flap fishing like a pro and alex w get their jacks if you could that would be splendisd

Goodayrbguhs I have not been on this forum as I have not fished in the salt for a long time but on Christmas I had a small window of fishing and had a blast with a new mate and a little canoe we went in and started bobbing on logs and had a blast for the last hour of fishing we got 10 yellowbelly a bit crowded with 3 people on a canoe but good fun Cheers

Hey guys I have recently given up on the spear fishing idea as I will only be home on the weekends as I am becoming a border and a curado and bass raider combo is probably more appealing for overall use. Just wondering about general areas for jacks like I’m not looking for the exact honey hole that you caught that 60 just general locations as I have learnt that a bunch of canals are trash and wastes of time only bream and some are full of big red dogs this is as those bad canals are way too shallow or only have pumped sand and no structure but still I am not sure for spots I know that the Capri bridges and the pontoons near the open water are great when fishing is good but those inland sections that branch off are just complete wastes of space for fishing but I have seen people catching more in some inland branches in other canals also I have heard that the canals near TSS are good but it is the same only the ones near the main runway are good just wondering where the best canals are in the goldie just a general area as most of the info I have got for spots was linda useless I saw Alex w on YouTube seems like a good fisherman but I have tried to geolocate his spots for the last month and I have had no luck wondering which canals he goes to? If at least one of you could give me a good canal I will be happy I have not fished for 2 months as I have been sick and stolen from but a cowling is now ready for purchase on the 3rd urs truly on an update ,Myles

Hey guys I have been working lots and i nearly have got my full setup done. Trust me I will get it done by christmas. My dad and another spearfishing mate of mine were gonna go at some gps marks but we do not have a sounder to see if there is any bait action down on the bottom looking for a cheap sounder that can do its jup preferably under 300$ any ideas?
