      1. Video link - Sharing my latest fishing video. This one is completely insane and must watch viewing for local anglers. We launch from Altona boat ramp and immediately find ourselves within the biggest school of salmon that I have ever seen. Its complete chaos, a massive bust up with salmon surfacing everywhere. We’re catching big salmon nearly every cast. Its nonstop fishing action. We were just flicking soft plastics curl tail and minnow imitations on a 1/8 jog head, but I reckon the salmon would have taken anything. Enjoy the video it’s a ripper, and please subscribe to the channel.
      2. Thought I’d share my latest fishing video - https://youtu.be/Jh53YfaS9lw I team up with Rob Kriz from Robs fishing adventures and we have an amazing fishing session on Port Phillip bay around Black Rock. We launch from Altona in some choppy conditions and eventually anchor in Black Rock after coming across a nice school in the Simrad sounder. Thankfully the wind and swell calms down and the fishing action is frantic as we catch heaps of good size pinkies, snook, whiting, and then finally into a school of big salmon. There's no better way to break the new Savage Gear 1DFR rods. Gear used Savage Gear 1DFR 3-5k inshore rod, Stealth 2000, 9.3 Adrenaline braid, Fat Curl tail soft plastics in motor oil which was a deadly combination for the day. If you enjoy the video then please sub the channel. Regard Al - FishingMad
      3. Snuck out for a fish while on a family Holiday. Thanks for watching. Clint.
      4. Have not been fishing for the last couple of days. So went through some old footage and slap together a short vid. As you tell I'm great at calling what fish it is before I see it. Thanks for watching. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UTBLx8KvIc4&t=306s
      5. Had a fun session at my local chasing Salmon. Great fun on light gear. Enjoy and thanks for watching.
      6. how good is this! Anyone chasing salmon in the South West over the Easter should have plenty to choose from and the seasonal run could yet bring schools of fish to the metropolitan area over the long weekend. Western Angler editor and Sunday Times fishing expert Scott Coghlan captured drone footage of one of four schools of salmon he saw at Cheynes Beach near Albany on the weekend. He said there had been reports of schools as far north as Dunsborough. “The school I got on the drone was probably about 30m long and there would be more than 20 tonnes of fish in it,” he said. “I’ve got another mate who told me there were schools at Hamelin Bay, at least until all the whales beached themselves last week. And that they were just around the corner from Hamelin at Foul Bay over the weekend. “I’ve also heard about some good numbers at Dunsborough. Will they get to Perth in time for Easter? I’m not sure but once they are at Dunsborough and the Capes, it can’t be far off. “If you’re going down south over the long weekend and having a fish you’re going to do all right.” Millions of salmon make the seasonal trek from the Great Australian Bight to metropolitan waters. Coghlan said the fish weren’t necessarily the best eating but were good sporting catches and often released back into the water by anglers. “They’re not terrible but wouldn’t really be my first pick - that said, like pretty much any fish, if you look after it and get it on ice right after you catch it, you can get some pretty decent eating,” he said. https://thewest.com.au/lifestyle/fishing/wa-salmon-run-anglers-could-have-bumper-easter-as-schools-wind-their-way-around-the-coast-ng-b88785483z

      9. Hi , I'm new to this forum so I apologise in advanced if I make any mistakes. Had time to go for a fish a couple days ago Fishing with my brother as per usual and we launched the boat at Tunks just before sunrise. Tried to get a few squid but no luck, but did manage to get a few yakka. Plan was to try and target some kings with the live bait. We went near north head and managed to hook up a bonito on one of the yakkas but spat the hook near the boat, apart from that not much else was happening. This was until we saw heaps of birds working a patch of fish about a couple hundred metres away. We quickly motored over there and saw a huge football field sized school of salmon busting up all over the place. I always have a light rod with a small metal lure rigged up handy for times like this. Threw the 10g halco twisty out but was having no luck, the salmon just weren't interested at all. After a couple casts I changed the lure over to a very lightly weighted soft plastic in a sort of clear/greenish colour. We re positioned the boat so the wind was behind us, that way we could get the most distance on the cast. I casted it out and as soon as it hit the water it got smashed and I was onto a nice sized salmon. Now I'm using a very light outfit with only 6lb line and leader so I had to play it safe. The fish jumped several times and I was worried it was going to bust me off. But after a 15 minute fight, finally had it boat side and netted it. The salmon felt about 3kg and very healthy. We had a blast chasing the salmon around for the next hour and catching them on light tackle, their were a few frigate mackerel mixed in there as well. All the salmon were fat and looked very healthy. The swell and wind picked up by then and it became too uncomfortable so we went inside to try for some flathead. Tried a few spots for flathead using soft plastics but no luck. Ended up going to manly and having some food. All in all it was a wonderful day and really good to be out on the water. With uni break finishing, I don't know when ill be able to go for another fish. I've been meaning to put more effort into making videos but have struggled to find the time. So hopefully you guys enjoy this video. Cheers
