      4. If there's anyone on here that has plecos i'm after some advice...I live in south bris and have a backyard pond approx 2.8m diameter with depth of 40-50cm most the time and I want to get a couple of plecos to clean up algae etc plus they look awesome..Now my pond isn't heated and wondering if they will survive in winter? Pond gets a fair bit of sun but I do have a lot of trees and worried might be too cold in winter..I read up they are pretty hardy with water quality etc but not sure if same with temperature..My local aquarium says they wont survive but another place rkns they shud be ok if water isn't over 50cm or so and he knows ppl that have had them in ponds for years with no problems...I'm just wondering if anyone has any experience good and bad with keeping them without heat? I am considering getting a heater if i go down this road..thanks

        Stingray ?

The other day my wife discovered what she, at first, thought was a stingray on the family room floor. It was pre-dawn at the time. Upon closer inspection she was aghast to realise it was the hind quarters (half) of a possum care of the dogs' night time activities. :pinch:
      6. Hi all, a discussion with people around the fire at winter camp motivated me to post my aquarium photos. Also have a cichlid breeding setup but these are a couple of my display tanks.

      11. Mrs Dino sent these to me. I think that all dog owners can relate to most of them.
      12. These horses were originally bred as "war horses" in the days of knights and armor. As armor got heavier, bigger horses were needed and the Friesian almost became extinct. They are back and are one of the prettiest horses in stature as well as gait. What gorgeous animals!! Just watching them becomes an emotional experience. Can you imagine what it would be like to ride one? Their manes and tails are the longest that I have seen and I noticed that when performing on grass, their hoofs do not kick up a divot (they land flat footed). Creatures such as these are what makes this world so special. These horses are native to the Netherlands . Have your audio on. /> Cheers Ray />
      13. Gday all, ive always wanted a jack in my tank but recently have found a liking for jungle perch! ive seen a few videos online of others keeping them, would i have to order one in from an aquarium shop? i have had Aussie bass in my tank for 2 years now and i assume they will be fairly similar to them feeding wise, so has anyone had any experience keeping them etc? Thanks in advance Glenn.

      15. If a jack spits your bait, give it a minute before bringing it in. I took a bit of video of shortie's latest jack. Excuse the glare and enjoy.... />

        fish tank

Thanks to Ellicat i now have a 1560 x 500 x 500 fish tank It was fun making it ourselves. The tank is setup ready to go, currently has some sword tails in it this are now called the guinnea Fish. They are the test fish to make sure that everything is right for when the real deal Happens. The chiclids that im getting as most are aware are coming from Adam. I hope i enjoy this new hobbie cause it certainly isnt cheap. Will post pics soon. Richard

        Fish tanks~!!!

Hey all.. Well, been thinking bout it and I am starting to get really keen on the idea about a fish tank. I used to have a small one ( not sure where its gone, i think mum sold it), but don't really have a great idea about them. Was looking at getting something around 4ft to keep a Jack in. Just wondering if anyone has a tank or pump around that they don't need? ill be happy to pay cash for it Also what would i need? pumps etc.. Had a read in the forum search before and got a bit of good info Thanks, Runty
      23. Hi all, looking for some advice about african cichlids, and I know there are some very knowledgeable fish keepers on this site. My son went overseas in May and left me in charge of 2 tanks of cichlids. One tank has mature fish and the other is a smaller tank with the offspring in there. The fish in the big tank have stopped feeding in the last couple of days. I haven't changed the food (sera granugreen pellets), it is even from the same container. Tonight I tried different food (sera vegitable diet aliment compose diet) and they weren't interested in that either. None of them are eating or showing any interest in food. They all look fine and are active. Nothing else has been changed (water changed last a couple of weeks ago, no new fish). Any ideas? He loves those fish and I wouldn't know how to tell him that they all died.
      24. G'day All, I have just bought a fish tank for Shell for her birthday. It is all set up, just waiting a week or so to introduce fish. We are keen on having bass or saratoga. Just wondering where I would buy these from in the Brissy area? The tank is 70lt. Any thoughts and advice would be much appreciated, as I am a total lid at this sort of thing. Thanks in advance, Ryan.
