i fish 30 pound main line with a 30 cm to 50 cm 80 pound leader ,i have not lost any fish from line braking. i have caught fish from all over awoonga and monduran in the sticks in weed beeds and in the depths of awoonga, the only thing that will go wrong with tackle is hooks bending .as for fishing in timber free spool fish if it runs around trees then follow them taking your time ,you will have a good chance of getting them as for knots try a slim butie and then supper gule you knots also never cast leader knot through gides as it weakens knots i hope this helps

Probably your best bet is to hit it with a hard core pressure cleaner. An ordinary domestic one probably won't be powerful enough.
