The Mooloolaba Game Fishing Club Inc. (“MGFC”) is based at the Mooloolaba Yacht Club on the doorstep of some of the best light tackle game fishing in Australia. Dominant species targeted in the area include juvenile Black Marlin, Sailfish, Yellowfin Tuna and a myriad of other species. On the wider grounds Blue, Striped and larger Black marlin are encountered on a regular basis using heavy tackle. The club predominantly tags and release the majority of the Billfish with the information being used by the NSW Fisheries Department to assist in their research of the species.

The Saltwater Flyfishers Association Sunshine Coast Inc meets the 1st Thurday evening every month except January at 7.30pm at the Mooloolaba Coast Guard Building, Parkyn Parade Mooloolaba. The meetings are full of interest to any person who enjoys flyfishing.

The Townsville Sportfishing Club was established over 30 years ago. It is one of Queensland's most progressive and financially secure Sportfishing Clubs. Members range from all age groups and enjoy a multitude of fishing styles.
