  1. Kreel: Generally no in our experience. Though for different reasons that what you'd expect. Usually the way a Jack gets off is that it busts you off or straightens the treble, so you're gonna have to stuff around for a bit re-rigging so you sort of miss the opportunity for another shot. However, if you get a hit and it misses it, then yep, they'll hit it again the next cast.

  2. Lee: Really:blink:?

Our dog just stays around us. Because she's so dark, she's gotten locked outside a couple of times(outside our gate) and she just waits at the front door, waiting for us to let her in:)

You know it. She gets really goofy when ever we pull up on a sandbank at places like Jumpinpin. She can sprint for ages.

Pity she's stuck near the city so there aren't too many wide open places for her to run around in:(

  4. Yeap. And some have been caught in the Logan (as a few people said above) and one was caught at Jumpinpin

I guess everyone said that Threadfin would never be caught in the river, and now look how many there are. Bring on Global Warming if it means that the northern species are coming down:woohoo:

I'd put money on it spilling in from a private dam or something

That's what I think as well. Probably got washed out or released in the upper reaches of the river and then was washed further downstream during the floods.

  6. My Dad's a docter and he see's alot of people and sometimes talks to them about fishing and one of the people he see's is a Fisheries Fish Counter and this looks a the types of fish being caught and how many. You may have been approached by one at a boat ramp before:dry:. They just come up to you and make a tally of fish caught. I don't think that they have any legal power so they can't fine you.

Anyway, he told my Dad today that someone caught a 1.3m Barramundi in the Coomera River. This guy was using pillies for Mangrove Jack and he caught it as bycatch:ohmy:. They don't know whether it was a wild one or just an introduced one. Unfortunately, when they tried to release it, it died so they kept it.

Just thought I'd let everyone know:)

  7. Yep. I think I've been there before:D. When we went to the spot I'm thinking of, a creepy old man came up and started talking crap. Talking about John Howard not liking something, selling razors, owning a massive pharmacy and then asking my brother if he had started to shave yet:S

    Thanks for the clarification

  8. I've heard of Cams Rocks from a number of members but I'm still yet to pinpoint its position. Odds are I've fished there before though.

Can anyone give me simple (very simple) instructions on how to get there from somewhere like Breaky Ck or Bretts Wharf?

    Thanks

They say that Snapper used to keep the Grinner stocks down but overfishing of Snapper has lead to a major increase in Grinner Numbers
