The thread doesn't go all the way to the bottom so you'll have to space out with a piece of marine ply, or formwork ply on the back side.
Even a piece of 4x2.
I'm sure you'll work it out.

Yeah I think that's the way to go, any idea on how far up to install ? and im guessing I'll need two?

Yeah get 2.
Up near the top outer corners at either side of transom. Just check your bridal to make sure it clears engine easily etc.
Like I said, biggest washer on the back you can find.
