  1. Are you allowed to fish for them?.coming from the UK I wouldn't mind having a go
  2. That's some superb info, thanks so much. At the moment I'm using mostly penn reels in the 2000-7000 rang for all my shore fishing then multiplyers for boat. Out of interest, what species do you fish for in the "impoundment natives"?
  3. I thought not as I'd never seen anything similar there
  4. Hi guys, Could someone advise on this please.... We are moving to Brisbane in April and I'm currently sorting what fishing gear to bring with me(I have lots ) Obviously I'm bringing my sea(boat/shore), fresh water (bait, fly, lure) but,I have lots of match fishing tackle as I fished comps in the UK (roach, barbel, chub, etc).I have pole and rods(feeder, waggler, bomb, stick) as well as trolley, ground bait buckets,rollers,etc,etc....the full set up. now,is there any point in that gear coming with me?is there a use for that tackle over there?.or do I try to sell it and buy more sea gear Many thanks Simon
  5. Funnily enough I've just made a few of them for my trip tomorrow! .it sounds very similar to here then

  9. Hey Mzaakir! That's so kind, will definitely stay in touch. That sounds great, hard to pick but I'd probably rate sea as my favourite type due to the unknown of what might turn up.do love a bit of lure/bait fishing on the rivers too.
  10. Funnily enough that's what I caught if I remember rightly small little catfish.
  11. Yes makes sense. As I haven't a clue on species it would be a stab in the dark.we use lots of plastic/rubber eels here for our bass fishing, fish ranging from 1lb-10lb+.in the rivers for our salmon, trout and sea trout we use lots of metal spinners and rapalas.
  12. Hi all, As some may of seen my first post here,we are relocating from the UK in April to brisbane.out of interest, could anyone advise on what type of lure you guys use in the rivers, from the shore and on kayaks (bit of a wide ranging topic I know ). Just wondering if they are similar to the UK so I can stock up before heading out
